She is screaming and thrashing on the bed.
I would say she's having a nightmare but these kind of nightmares happen from a cause.
"Stay away" her mother tells us "She can get violent and you guys can get hurt. She needs to wake up herself"
Her mothers eyes are filled with tears and Athos sighs
"Athos, what is happening?" i ask her
We're on Myers' room.
"C-PTSD" she says without looking at me "She'll wake up. Usually Dorian wakes her up cause he's the only one she doesn't get violent with"
She takes her mother outside the room and i stay in.
I can't see her like this.
I get close and sit on the edge of the bed.
I take her hand "Myers, wake up. It's just a dream."
I cup the back of her neck "Myers"
She gasps awake, panting, sweating and crying
"Hey it's okay, it's okay." i say squeezing her hand "I'm here. It's me"
Her breathing starts to calm but the tears are still there.
I bring her closer and pull her to me, hugging her with one arm.
Then she breaks into sobs and hugs me back
"It's okay, i'm here."
I lean back in the bed and hold her like that
After her sobs quieten i ask "What happened?"
"I don't want to talk about it" she says looking at me with teary eyes.
She leans her head in my chest and i thread my fingers in her curls.
"Thanks for waking me up" she says looking up at me
I kiss her lips lightly
"That happens a lot?" i ask
"A couple of times a month." she answers
Her sobbing had stopped now and her eyes are clear of tears.
"I get over it." she says "All i need is to watch a movie, nap again or go to the Arena."
I look at the tattoo behind her arm "What does this mean, the two headed eagle?"
"My nationality. That's the symbol. I'm patriotic." she says with a laugh "Plus, it's pretty"
"That i have to agree. It's hot."
"What about you? You have a lot of tattoos. Which one has the most meaning?"
"L'appel du vide" i say taking her hand to the tattoo on my collarbone "It's what binds our family: call of the void. What about the phrase on your lower abdomen : Hell is empty and all the devils are here? I know it's from William Shakespeare, but why?"
She smiles "It's from my favourite book character and it's the character i relate the most. Aaron Warner. Shatter me series."
"How about we go out of the house? I have a place which you're going to love."
Her face falls " I don't think that's a good idea. The paparazzi won't leave me alone."
"Then we go undercover. Wear something that they never think you would wear. And wear a bikini. You are going to need it."
Her face is filled with a smile and she goes to her wardrobe.
What the fuck am i doing?
I never take girls out on dates- Ah shit! Why is my heart beating so fast.
Am i going to have a heart attack? These are the symptoms. I should definitely see a doctor.
She comes out of the wardrobe wearing a light pink dress with some white sneakers.
Her hair are in a ponytail and she's wearing no make up.
I contain a laugh, seeing her in pink and you can tell by her face she's not amused
"You tell anyone about this and i will kill you.I got some other clothes in my backpack. There's no way i'm wearing this for longer than five minutes"
"As you wish, princess."
She rolls her eyes and walks out of the room but i don't miss the smile on her lips
As we walk out, we see her mother and Athos in the living room.
"O My god Nina are you ok?" her mother asks her
Nina?
"Yeah. I'm going out to clear my mind a little."
Her mother eyes her than me and the worry on her face if replaced with realisation
Athos is fully grinning.
"I'll tell your dad that you can't make it to the meeting." her mom tells her holding a grin
"Thanks mamma. See you." and we walk away
"Nina?" i say confused
"It's my middle name. My family usually calls me that cause it's easier to pronounce in Italian and Albanian. What about you? What's your middle name?"
I make a face
She laughs "That bad?"
"Never let my father name children."
"What is it? Cmon?"
"Fox" and i look at her "Don't laugh"
"I'm not laughing" but her face betrays her "Fox"
