Lillia gulped, trying to analyse the situation she was in.

Shuu had offered her a choice to pick her master, which Ayato had pointed out to be kind. Kind? It wasn't offered out of kindness, she had guessed that Shuu seemed to be burdened by the fact that she is his property, so he wanted to hand her over to Ayato, who believed that he will be able to fulfill the duties of a master. Instead of feeling at loss of words, she felt angry. What was she, an object? Sure, she is called a 'property', but that doesn't mean she had to be treated as if she had no feelings injected in her! She is a human being, unlike them who are vampires!

"What about I don't choose any of you?" she said coolly. She had to find a way to contain her anger, so she chose to fold her arms. She might end up flailing her arms at them if she's not careful.

Ayato snickered as he heard this. "Hey. Shuu just offered for you to choose your master, not choosing your fate. You are still a property after all, so act like one" he said arrogantly and Lillia felt herself having trouble breathing. She was starting to feel her fury building up in her when he heard Ayato said that. Shuu was eyeing her the whole time and slowly smiled.

"So I guess you volunteer to be everyone's food, then?" Shuu asked and Lillia turned her gaze to Shuu. "If you stop being my property, all vampires will have the free rein to sample you" he continued and Lillia blinked at his words. It was different when he offered to be her master the first time before.

"Of course, since you are living in the Sakamaki mansion, those puny vampires won't be able to touch you, so they will just prey on those innocent women out there" Ayato said, chuckling darkly. So that's what it was. Her living in this mansion was the mere reason other women were being attacked. If she wasn't living with the Sakamaki vampires, she would have been an easy prey for these 'puny' vampires. She took a deep breath as she started to think. If she were to be 'free' from the clutches of the Sakamaki vampires, she would still be a prey for other vampires, thus she still had no freedom at all. Even so, if she were to stay as a property, women are still being attacked. In actuality, innocent women would still be attacked, regardless of her decision.

She looked at Shuu, who was already closing his eyes; clearly bored from waiting. Shuu did once mentioned that her blood carried a very unique scent. From the way he said it, it seemed that the scent of her blood was so special, that maybe the vampires will shift their focus to prey on her instead of these innocent women. As much as she wanted to survive till she finds her mother, she refused to be the cause of the sufferings of these innocent women. To her, a vampire or two will not scare her, it's jealous women that scares her the most. It might be crazy, but might as well go for it.

"I volunteer to be everyone's food" she said finally and braced for the two men's reaction. Shuu opened his eyes and looked at her, his eyes wide with shock. Ayato had stopped tapping his foot and looked at her, his jaw agape. But it wasn't for long. Shuu burst out laughing, clutching to his sides. He was laughing so hard, tears started to stream down his face. Now both Lillia and Ayato were looking at Shuu with pure bewilderment; Shuu was not the type to ever put any effort in anything at all, so seeing his full of emotion baffled the both of them.

As his laughter subsided a moment later, Shuu wiped his eyes and looked at Lillia, a glint of amusement in his eyes. "You actually volunteered to be a food sample for others? What type of pervert are you?" Shuu said, still chuckling. Lillia folded her arms and glared at him.

"I would rather be food for other vampires than vampires like you" she said, feeling brave. Shuu stopped chuckling and looked at her with eyes full of mockery. "What...? You actually think that those vampires will chase you down instead if you are not my property anymore, is that it?" Shuu said, his voice low as he eyed at her.

Lillia nodded at his statement and let out a small smile. "If you understand my motives, then I would like to ask you to let me go" she said, feeling accomplished. Ayato, who was watching this exchange between them started to protest, but Shuu suddenly stood up, making the chair he had sat on to topple over.

"You know what? I take back my offer. You will remain my property, so Ayato, leave" Shuu said and this made Ayato scoff in disbelief. "What? You think I will easily leave after all this? You know what? How about you leave?" Ayato replied angrily.

Shuu walked over to Lillia, clearly ignoring Ayato's remark. Lillia, who was still puzzled by this turn of events, merely watched Shuu as he neared himself to her. Before she could react, Shuu had grabbed her arm and pulled her off the table that she had found herself sitting on. She struggled at his grasp, but to no avail; Shuu was too strong. "Let go of me! What are you doing?" she yelled, clutching onto Shuu's hand in a desperate attempt to make him let go of her.

"Oi, Shuu! What the heck are you doing?" Ayato yelled and Shuu clicked his tongue in irritation. "Stop yelling. It's annoying. I'm taking her away from here, so that I could put some sense into her" he said to Ayato and Lillia stopped struggling. Since when had he cared about me anyway? she thought as Ayato took a step towards them.

"Oh how smart of you, Shuu. But you know what? If you're going to take her with you, I will stop you. No way am I going to let her escape from my clutches again" Ayato said as he took another step towards them, grinning evilly.

Shuu tightened his grip on Lillia's arm, causing her to gasp in pain. They looked at each other, Lillia was almost close to tears at the pain while Shuu only had a blank look. To her relief, Shuu loosened his grip on her arm, only to grab her shoulders to pull her close to him. Ayato paused and cocked his head; clearly he did not expect this, but he was still curious of what Shuu had under his sleeve.

Lillia had found herself in the same position that had made her cry a week ago; her face was so close to his, she could feel his breath on her face. She looked away from him, trying to bite back the tears after remembering the shock she had to go through before. Shuu grabbed her chin to force her to look at him. Before she could manage to look away again, Shuu cupped his hands on her face, making it impossible for her to move her head. Lillia caught her breath as she stared into his blue eyes. What is he trying to do...?

Before she could react, Shuu leaned in and their lips met. Lillia felt her mind going blank as he did this and she faintly heard Ayato's protests in the background. Shuu broke away from her to look at Ayato. "Now you understand? Leave" Shuu said simply and Ayato shut his mouth. Ayato glared at Shuu then he clicked his tongue. He turned around and just walked away. "Whatever. You better not think it's over, Shuu" Ayato said as he walked out of the door.

It was when the sound of Ayato's footsteps disappeared that Lillia's knees started to give away. Shuu was still holding onto her, so she didn't fall down to the floor. She looked up at him, her lips quivering. "Why did you do that?" she said, her voice barely audible. Shuu stared at her, his blue eyes burning into hers. He then let out a small smile.

"I guess it's time for me to fulfill my duties as a master" he said, his voice low. Lillia only looked at him, waiting for his next move. He brushed a lock of her hair from her face, still smiling. He leaned in again to whisper into her ear, "Are you prepared for it...?"
