Chapter 25 The war to end all wars

Autumn rushed up a set of stairs and to the top of the castle waiting for Hope to come and save her. She saw guards approaching her she ran along the other end of the castle wall and scaled the turret wall to reach the top being a pirate really made you very agile. She saw guards trying to reach her "come on Hope" Autumn muttered to herself holding onto the turret for dear life.

She leapt off the turret narrowly missing the wall but grabbing onto the edge of the wall pulling herself upward and running further and further away. This brought her back to when her and Hope used to have to steal food to survive it was always fun they'd run away on down the street but this was different, this was truly, really life or death. It was exhilarating.

Autumn scaled another turret but at the top she found Malus, she tried to run off but he grabbed her by the neck pulling her up Autumn gasped for air.

"ah we meet at last Autumn Brown, Lara can do way better than you, that's why she left you, to be with me where she belongs with power as Lady her rightful title, bring her back and i'll set you free. She does deserve the right kind of love after all" he said

"i can give her everything you can't i make her happy she actually wants me, not you, she kissed you once so what you've spent a stupid amount of time pining over her its pathetic" he smirked

"i-i lo-love her, you like her t-there a d-difference you prick" Autumn said before she kicked the brick wall pushing herself backward, she started to fall towards the ground, the cobbles came closer and closer and closer until .. Jack grabbed Autumn swinging across the wall.

"Jack? but?" Autumn said realising she hadn't seen him

"look i know the others probably told you what i did, what i said and look i'm sorry i didn't mean to i just felt forced to be here but now i realise your a leader, our leader Autumn and i realised what were fighting for and what were fighting against" Jack said

"they told me nothing, you know what tell me later right now go fight off these guys would you" Autumn said grabbing the rope and smashing through a window . Autumn grabbed a sword of the wall and ran back through castle, she was about to leave when the woman with the black bob entered the room. Autumn knew who she was instantly how could she not, she'd looked so alike her sister, so much like Lara. Lara had only talked about her sister once but all of it came rushing back to her the black bob, the smug grin and she did look a lot like Lara. But why here? Why now? Autumn thought.

"Vicky?" Autumn said shocked

"don't call me that" the girl said pushing Autumn up against the wall "my name is Helana, who are you?" she spat at Autumn, Autumn kneed Vicky in the chest and ran off through the door she came. Vicky ran after her, rugby tackling her onto the ground.

"god your as bad as your sister" Autumn giggled from underneath Vicky

"who are you" Vicky said pointing a dagger at Autumn's throat

"hehe bet you'd love to know, why don't you ask your sister she's only been looking for you for seven years" She said rolling on top of Vicky and kneeing her in the chest, hearing a bone crack probably having broken her ribs. Autumn dare not look back, she saw Hope fast approaching a window. Autumn found a plant pot, she smashed the window and saw as Hope fast approached the window, she stood on the windows still waiting for Hope to pass she leapt out the window, knowing if she missed she be dead for certain. She caught the broom and held on tight for dear life as arrows narrowly missed her legs, her shoulders, her head.

"ah! Autumn what the hell" Hope screamed noticing Autumn hanging on the back of her broom

"help me up" She said, Hope grabbed her hand and pulled her up

"were going to war" Hope said "so get ready" Hope said landing at the shore. Autumn couldn't ever think she just grabbed her sword, she wasn't prepared but she was ready. Autumn stood at the front of this crowd ready to fight. Lord Malus, her mother and the rest of the soliders approach ready for war ready to fight.

Autumn stood there each army able to hear each others breath. "Army of the sea, charge" Autumn said before running forward followed by her army of pirates. Malus's army charged towards them. Suddenly a huge dragon swooped over the army's  blowing fire at every one of the pirates. Hope went towards Autumn's mother an all mighty fight broke out between them. The vivid red and purple bashing against one another, each woman hurting the other severely. Daniel was fighting some of the strongest  guards of with Jack. Aggie was fighting several guards at a time. Malus approached Autumn, they broke out into a great fight, one that had been building up for so long now. Malus would throw his black magic at Autumn while she would fight with her sword trying to stab him but failing miserably.

The fight was hours long, much blood was shed and many lives were lost but through out the whole thing Autumn was fighting Malus, only Malus. There fight was long but finally Autumn struck Malus where it hurt, in the chest she dug her dagger into his chest. She stood there exhausted and tired. Lara stumbled over to her. Autumn was shocked and enraged.

"what are you doing, get back on that ship this instant, look at yourself it's not safe" Autumn said

"Hope had some healing syrup left on the boat, i'm fine Autumn, i'll be fine" Lara said. Autumn ran over to Lara to kiss her however before she moved a foot forward. Autumn felt something drive through her lower back something sharp and metal like, she gazed at her lower stomach as she saw a blade pointing out of it covered in blood. Autumn began to breath deeply she stumbled over to Lara. Lara caught her in her arms. Tears began to fall down both there faces knowing this was the end, knowing there love was dying having only been short but both of them agreed this was the best love they'd ever had or ever would have, this was true love. Autumn looked deeply into Lara's blue eyes one last time and said "sorry i'm b-bleeding on y-your t-trousers w-wasn't m-my plan" Autumn spluttered her last words laughing a little. Lara smiled at her crying heavily. Autumn breathed one last deep breath and shut her eyes. Lara lay her on the cobbles, kissed her forehead, took her sword and walked over to Malus who was clutching onto life.

"how dare you touch her, i hope your suffer in hell" Lara said before attempting to strike him. Malus lifted Lara up with his black magic starting to strangle and suffocate her.

"get away from my girlfriend you dick" Autumn said taking the dagger out of herself and going to stab Malus.
"Wait!" Daniel said
"What?" Autumn said holding the dagger to Malus's head
"Execute him, don't be as bad as him"
"Fine, take him prisoner"
Lara hugged Autumn
"Your okay now" she said joyfully
"Y-yeah about that" Autumn said falling to the ground.

"No!" Lara said getting a little excited for a moment

"i'm not going to live Lara i'm sorry, i-i wish i was " Autumn said breathing heavily

"Your are, I'm sure we can do something"
Autumn didn't say anything else for a moment, she stroked her face.
"Lara, L-Lara I-I just, I"
"I love you two" Lara said
Autumn smiled at her before choking a little. Autumn passed away moments later.

"No!" Lara cried " No please! No come back" Lara cried holding onto Autumn's dead body. Hope saw this all she felt almost as if something from Autumn still lived on in her somehow some extra magic some extra something had left Autumn and come to her. Hope created a red magic dragon, Autumn's mother tried to fight back but as the red dragon ate her magic she seemed to fade away into dust.

The battle was won, but at what price?
