The city had been in much merriment in the week prior to the coronation. People had been decorating the street leading the chapel in which the coronation would take place. People had put up bunting in the streets and brought flags to wave as the parade passed them on it's way to the chapel.
The group had all made arrangements for there departure. Aggie was stocking up the ship, packing up her swords, hats and coats. Everything was ready for her to leave that afternoon after the coronation party was finished.
Daniel and Hope were moving back to Urbe, there was a small castle that Daniel and Hope were going to move into. Hope was going to use her house and as guest house, potion stock and library however she was still planning to visit the local library every now and again just for old times sake. They were going to leave two days after the coronation had passed.
Jack had many duties to attend to as king, he had meetings, dinners and other public duties arranged for a week after his coronation. Daniel was planning to visit once a month with Hope to help with ruling over there small town, helping with his duties and just because they were friends.
Autumn and Lara were planning to leave at the same time as Hope and Daniel. They were heading of to the elf kingdom in search of Vicky. A part of Autumn wished they could go to Urbe with Hope and Daniel, go back to Lara's house and live together like old times but Autumn knew that finding Vicky was important to Lara, she was her sister and she wanted closure or even a relationship of some kind.
The morning of the coronation Autumn and Lara stood in front of the mirror looking at themselves. This was the first morning Lara had been with Autumn and she'd never felt happier. Autumn was wearing a white satin dress, much like a wedding dress with a green, floral corset. Lara was wearing a blue and gold dress with her blue necklace. Both of the girls looked very pretty.
"You've never looked more beautiful" Autumn said
"Oh yeah"
"Yeah" Autumn said before Lara held her face from under chin pulling her in close and kissing her once again.
They proceeded down the staircase and into the awaiting carriage with Aggie.
"so, this is it guess" Aggie said a hint of sorrow in her voice
"visit us once were settled" Lara said
"you know that won't happen more than once a year" Aggie said
"and? it's still once rather than never" Autumn said
"very well then, once a year" Aggie said. Hope, Daniel and Merlin sat on a broomstick behind the carriage. Jack was in another much more grand carriage at the end of the parade line. Autumn felt a sense of sadness when the carriage finally set of she knew this was the end of this chapter of her life. Autumn stared out the window of the carriage waving to the crowd holding back tears, she hated endings.
The parade was grand, many musicians, dancers, acrobats and other performers where part of the 100 strong parade. When the parade reached the chapel Autumn and Lara got out holding each others hands for support they entered the chapel with a sense of bittersweet joy in there stomachs.
Jack was the last to enter the chapel, everyone had sat down. Autumn and Lara were sat in the upper part of the chapel where they had a spectacular view. Aggie was sat with the other pirates on front left side of the lower seating and Hope and Daniel sat on the opposite side to Autumn and Lara. The rest of the guests were either friends or important rulers from other kingdoms.
Everyone was seated as Jack finally knelt down ready to be crowned, seconds later a crown was placed on Jack head. The party that followed went on for hours, much food, talk and dancing was enjoyed. Everything seemed to happy about this and no one there had a care in the world.
That evening Autumn, Lara, Daniel, Hope and Jack all stood on the dock saying goodbye to Aggie.
"we'll have a yearly feast" Jack said "here to remember those who died and to honour our victory". Everyone was agreeable to the idea.
"i think i might actually miss this you know" Aggie said "you guys are great" Aggie said hugging each and every one of them
"Autumn, Lara i hope one day i'll have a love like yours, but Autumn at least remember " Aggie said as she hugged the two of them "Hope you really are the most powerful witch of this century" Aggie said embracing her in her arms "Daniel at first i thought you were a right prick, now i realise maybe your alright" Aggie said shaking his hand, Hope smirked at Aggie's blunt remark "Jack, you'll make a great king i'm sure" Aggie said hugging the final member of there little gang.
Finally Aggie's ship set sail into the sunset, this was the end and Autumn felt it a lot had changed since that day on the field but for the better she guessed, she had love, the best friend she never would've dreamed for and most importantly she was happy the kind of happy where your happy because the people around you inspire you to be so. There was still going to be highs and lows but in the here and now she was truly, properly happy and content.
