In Chapter 3 of the anime novel, titled "Ride with the Sky," the protagonist Samael wakes up on the seashore and realizes he has lost his sword. He uses the Azureus orb to locate himself on a map and discovers he is on the west coast of the village seashore. As Samael searches for his sword, he is attacked by pale black-eyed creatures and a four-legged wolf-like creature. The Azureus orb gifts him a new sword, and Samael defeats the creatures. However, more waves of creatures appear, and Samael uses the orb's teleportation ability to escape. He continues to fight against sand-human creatures but faces bigger trouble as a dark storm approaches. The orb creates a raft for Samael to escape, but he struggles to survive the violent sea. Eventually, the storm calms, and Samael dreams about past events in the sanctuary. He wakes up on land and continues his journey, following warnings written in blood. He enters the empty Aza village and encounters the grey-pale creatures, whom he easily defeats. Samael explores the village's school and finds disturbing messages about missing children. He moves on to another community in the village, where he discovers another school and encounters more creatures. Samael uses the Azureus orb's teleportation ability to explore a secret floor in the school and finds a training room. He realizes someone or something is watching him and controlling his actions.
