In Chapter 24, titled "Old Church: Azurian Watcher," Samael finds himself in the sanctuary of the old church. The candlesticks providing light suddenly self-extinguish, plunging the room into darkness. Samael senses a chill in the air and prepares for action. The pews are thrust towards him, but he swiftly dodges them. A black dim sphere appears, and pale grey-hovering creatures with black eyes emerge from it.
Samael engages in battle, using his teleportation technique and his unusual long steel sword to defeat the creatures and clear the area. He searches the sanctuary but finds nothing of note. As he approaches the altar, he reads from an opened book, finding cryptic passages about seeking the kingdom of God and warnings about evildoers from the East.
The ground begins to shake, and the altar lowers like an elevator, revealing a hidden underground area. Samael steps off the altar, disturbed by the blood, drawings, and symbols on the walls. He notices that the creatures depicted resemble those from Abbie's world, the half man and half bat beings.
Moving forward with the light provided by the Azureus orb, Samael enters another small area but encounters a red barrier blocking his path. More pale grey-hovering creatures emerge from a black dim sphere, and Samael fights them off. With the barrier gone, he proceeds cautiously.
Suddenly, a wicked howl echoes through the underground, signaling the presence of an unleashed evil. Samael reaches an odd room, where the pathways are blocked by red barriers. More pale grey-hovering creatures appear, and Samael prepares for battle. The chapter ends with the question of whether Samael will escape the evil that surrounds him or if his fate will be sealed in this underground room.
The next chapter will reveal Samael's fate and what he faces beneath the church underground.
