"Hey daddy." Emani knocked on the door three times as she entered her fathers room.
"Hey baby." He spoke not looking up from his iPad. Emani walked toward the edge of the bed and sat on it looking at him waiting for his undivided attention.
Armani ripped his eyes away from his iPad before looking at Emami. "I'm sorry baby." He immediately closed the case of his iPad. "Wassup."
Emani's chest slightly lifted as her mouth opened to speak but she paused for a little. "I wanted to say sorry for how I reacted to you tellin' me bout' mommy."
"I realized later on that I was really reactin' out of emotion; you know feelin' the emotions of her death all over again from when I was four. So thank you for lettin' me get myself together before I went any further."
Armani got up and sat next to Emani before wrapping his arm around her shoulder and bringing her in to kiss her temple. He rested his head against hers. "I love you." He let go of her and turned her body so she was looking at him. "Okay?"
Emani nodded before responding. "I love you too." She kissed his cheek before giving him a big hug around his neck.
