"Will you marry me?" Dan said with a smile upon his face.

"No!" The guy answered back with no emotion upon his face.

Simple answer.

That was it.
Nothing more, nothing less.
One word that hurt and then tears followed.

Marriage was on his mind. Dan wanted to marry the love of his life. He wanted to start a life with the man of his dreams, with the man who kept him here alive, breathing and free. Dan wanted his love to say yes, but instead, the guy said, 'No!' Simple and hurtful as can be.

The man of his dreams was not the man meant for him. This man did not love him the same as Dan loved him. Dan and the guy just weren't meant to be.

Dan' heart shattered to the ground. It hurt hearing those words from the one you thought your love for them would keep around. Dan overthought all the time after his proposal because then he had it in his mind that love was nothing but a simple emotion that just shattered everything to the ground. He walked away without a thought of love ever sticking around because he had just wasted 3 years of his life and his love for nothing. His love for the man he proposed to had faded away because so did his own soul.

Dan became heartless and emotionless. He became the man every girl wants, but he did not believe in love anymore. Or so that is what his mind has told him to do.

Dan had left the town that he once lived in and moved far, far away to begin a life without love in it. He left the town where his love had started and moved to a place where his new life would soon begin, a life where he would see love differently, because maybe, just maybe he could feel love again.

A year went by super quick, but love still stayed away and never made its way back. Dan lived a year in sadness and in grief. He lived his life as he could because he needed to breathe.

Breathing became hard because his love for that guy was all the life and love he had in him and his mind, or so that's just what he thinks.

A year ago, Dan was heartbroken, and to this day, he still is. He knew one day love would return, and unexpectedly, it did, except he still thought love was a waste of time all because of that one stupid proposal to the guy he thought was the one, but Dan had pushed away every single guy that ever tried coming anywhere near him.

Until one day, this random guy kept coming back. Without stopping or walking away, this one person stayed in every way. He stayed when he was pushed away. He stayed when he was yelled at. He stayed because he knew that if he just kept trying, he might just get something out of it. He might just make a friend or maybe something more, but who knows.

This guy who did everything to stick with Dan, his name is Yok. Yok had it in his mind that Dan had a life that was hard to live, and to say that was true was quite sad to know. Yok somehow knew that Dan needed something or someone, but Yok had no idea what that was until one day Yok had walked into Dan and had seen visible tear stains upon Dan' cheeks when they had walked into each other. Yok knew right then and there that what Dan needed was a shoulder to cry on. Someone to hear his words, someone for him to just simply rant to about his feelings. Dan eventually became trusting with his feelings with Yok and so Yok ended up sitting with Dan for hours talking about what went on and why he was the way he was.

"Hey, Dan, wake up." Yok had said loud enough for Dan to hear because during their talk and all the tears, Dan had fallen asleep on Yok' shoulder. Dan ended up waking up, and they just sat their in silence for a little while. Not a single person said a word.

A few months later, they became each others comfort. They went out for drinks like they had been friends for years. They talked about their problems all the time, but Dan never spoke about his failed proposal.
