NEVER ENDING LOVE

ENGAGEMENT

As discussed the arrangements were done on time and the guests have started arriving but not too many since it's just a family function for now. They decided to reveal to media when the marriage is done in the Village.

"Geethu! Here! Hand them over to poojari gaaru" Bhagya handed the jewellery boxes to Geethu who went onto the dias and gave them to poojari gaaru.

Soon Abhi sat on the dias for pooja between his parents completing few rituals making Poojari gaaru ask for the bride for completing remaining rituals.

"I'll go and bring her down" Janu went upstairs.

Janu was dressed simply as it was just engagement but still she was getting glances from everyone. She never understood why men are like that or even relatives because they were so nosy. She came out of her thoughts when she reached Keerthi's room and opened the door to see Keerthi's friends surrounding her for pictures.

"Alright! To be bride. Your boyfriend is waiting for you" Janu smiled making Keerthi blush.

"How am I looking?" Keerthi asked.

"I think you'll get married today itself if Abhi wasn't so keen about the rituals and traditions" Janu smiled making everyone laugh.

Keerthi along with her friends and janu came downstairs and went onto the dias and sat beside Abhi who smiled at her as they did pooja completing the rituals before ring exchange.

Once the pooja was done the maids placed the pooja things away clearing the dias and both of them sat down on the couch as Kalyani handed them the rings. Abhi and Keerthi exchanged the rings making everyone shower them in rose petals and their friends and cousins hooted.

Everyone handed their gifts and blessings one by one before they went to have lunch. Janu was talking to Geethu when a guy came to them and greeted Geethu "Hi! Geethu akka".

"Sirish! How are you? By the way this is Janu" Geethu introduced him to Janu.

"I'm fine akka. Hello! I'm Sirish" Sirish extended his hand for a handshake but Janu looked at his hand awkwardly.

"I thought you'd be coming here yesterday" Raghav walked to them and put an arm around Sirish's shoulder making him pull back his arm.

Janu smiled secretly as Sirish and Raghav spoke to each other "I had to close a business deal".

"I'll be back" Geethu excused herself and went to greet other guests.

"So... Janu are you a friend of Keerthi?" Sirish asked.

"Cousin from maternal side" Raghav answered instead of Janu.

"That makes us cousins too. You should call me baava (brother in law)" Janu raised her eyebrow at Sirish's statement.

"Someone's calling you" Janu looked behind Sirish making him go to the remaining family.

"Why do you have such nosy cousins?" Janu asked looking at Raghav.

"Now you understand how I feel when you're nosy" Raghav smirked making her roll her eyes.

"I'm not nosy. I'm interested in you" Janu shrugged making him frown.

"You really need to think before you talk" Raghav adviced.

"Generally speaking! I do not talk without thinking but when it comes to you, I'll just lose the sense of thinking" Janu looked at him intensely.

"You should go and greet others" Raghav avoided her gaze.

"You're trying to ignore me again" Janu smiled and started walking away from him as he was running his fingers through his hair but her chunni stuck in his watch and without stopping she walked away and then stilled as both of them heard a tare sound.

Janu widened her eyes as she realised the cloth on her shoulder tore since her chunni is pinned to her dress and it got stuck in his watch making her immediately look around and held her left shoulder but her hand couldn't cover the ripped portion since it is under her shoulder blade side.

Raghav immediately moved forward and put his left palm on her shoulder blade covering the tare of the dress from behind her. For everyone they would look like a couple who's so close that they can't be parted "What have you done?"

"It's your chunni that stuck in my watch" Raghav smiled at the guests who were teasing them with their eyes.

"It's your watch that stuck into my chunni" Janu gritted out.

"Let's argue after you get changed shall we?" Raghav pushed her forward gently making her walk in the direction of the stairs when someone blocked her path.

"Hey! Janu" Sirish expression changed once he saw how close Janu and Raghav were "Are you going somewhere?"

"Uh.... I... we're going to bring a...a gift for Keerthi" Janu struggled to lie.

"Why would you both go upstairs for the gift?" Sirish asked.

"It's in my room" Raghav smoothly lied.

"Then you can go and bring it while I and Janu talk" Sirish suggested.

"Ummm....he forgot where he put it so we're going to....search it" Janu smiled.

"Oh! Then I'll also go with you" Sirish was about to turn.

"No!" He got startled hearing both their voices at the same time.

"We meant....you do not know how the gift looks so it'll be easy if we go and bring it back" Raghav nodded.

"Then you just tell me how it looks like" Sirish shrugged making Raghav and Janu look at each other.

"Oh! Uncle! Sirish is here" Raghav suddenly looked to the left of Sirish making him turn towards the entrance while Raghav rushed Janu towards the stairs and then towards her room.
