The next day when Vachya came downstairs she saw the living room completely decorated and the ladies of the house in beautiful pattu sarees doing arrangements for pooja making her frown.
She saw Keerthi who was also in a pattu saree and Keerthi's in laws too helping in pooja arrangements and asked "Is there any occasion?"

"Why aren't you ready yet?" Geethu asked.
"Because no one told me about anything" Vachya shrugged.

"Today is Varalakshmi vratam girl. Go and get ready into traditional clothes after the head bath and come down for pooja" Keerthi said.

"Varalakshmi vratam?" Vachya was confused.
"It's a vratam for the long and happy life of the husbands and riches. Women fast on this day and take blessings of their husbands after the vratam and then eat" Bhanu explained.
"Oh! Then I'll also do the fast since I didn't eat anything" Vachya excitedly said.
"Married women should do it" Bhagya reminded her.
"Who said I'm not?" Vachya asked making everyone look at her as if she has grown a second head "Uh... I mean, I'll be married anyhow soon. So why not wish for my future husband's safety".
"Don't worry! I'm sure you'll get a nice husband who takes care of you and loves you a lot" Bhagya teased her making her blush and look at Raghav who was talking to Abhi.
'My husband is my god chinattaya and I'm his life' Vachya smiled and went back to her room to get ready for the pooja.
*************************************** After her head bath Vachya got ready into a half saree and wore minimal jewellery and smiled at her reflection excited to get compliments from her peniviti and rushed downstairs to see only ladies in the living room and joined them sitting on the carpeted floor before the goddess Lakshmi Devi idol as poojari gaaru chanted mantras.

She looked around for Raghav but he was no where to be seen making Keerthi smile and bump her shoulder to Vachya's "They all went out for a meeting. You've to wait until evening for Annayya to return".

"You should also wait then since your husband is with my hus- your Annayya" Vachya corrected herself making Keerthi raise her eyebrows with a teasing smile.
"What were you about to say? Your husband? Aww! You are so in love girl" Keerthi teased making Vachya blush.
Once the pooja is done Bhagya, Keerthi and Geethu handed thambulam containing saree, pasupu (turmeric), kumkuma and bangles to the ladies who joined pooja and took their blessings before directing them towards the lunch area to break their fast.
Vachya sat in the living room instead of going to lunch since she can't break her fast until Raghav comes home and gives her blessings. She heard footsteps and stood up but was disappointed when she didn't see Raghav in the men group "Keerthi and chinattaya are in the dining hall" saying she sat down on the couch.
"Aren't you gonna have lunch?" Lucky asked.
"I'm not hungry" Vachya replied.
"Annayya wouldn't want you to be hungry vadina(sister in law)" Vachya widened her eyes hearing Lucky's words.
"Wh...what did you call me?" Vachya stuttered.
"I know you are not Janu. But don't worry I won't tell a soul about you being my vadina" Lucky smiled and walked away to have his lunch making her digest what happened now.
She liked it when Lucky called her vadina. It feels like she's finally settling into the family and gaining family members love but she's still scared of Geethu's and Bhanu's reaction when they find out her being Vachya instead of Janu. It would wreak a havoc in the house and her peniviti has to take the blame again. With these thoughts running through her head she walked to her room and decided to wait for Raghav even if she was hungry.
