Chapter Seven

Skyler's POV

Spent.

I am so tired and it's only 6pm and I still have to sit through a dinner with my family and in-laws. Caspian want us to sit down with them and tell them that we are staying married; it's been a few days and we are still trying to work out the details of our new relationship.

So far all we have worked out is how best to satisfy each other inside and outside of bed, I walk into my apartment to find flowers all over. I walk over to the couch putting my bag down I walk over to the lilies smelling them and they smell amazing.

I can't believe Caspian sent me all these flowers he is too much; I have to think of a way to thank him later but for now I need to get ready for dinner with our folks. I take my time getting ready for dinner, I don't want to overdo it I want to be as comfortable as possible.

I walk into my room walking over to the mirror looking at my outfit, I decided on something light and comfortable. A light fitting baby blue dress that ends just above my knees; I curl my hair letting it down around me.

I want to get through this dinner and come home with my man, I finish getting ready grabbing my keys. I check my messages as I drive to my parents I have lined up a few meetings with foundations that I want to invest in.

I am thinking about my next tour I don't know where I'll be heading but I know it's going to be amazing. The car comes to a stop and we were outside the Carrington estate, I get out of the car walking up to the door placing a knock. It opens and I am greeted by a maid I walk in taking off my coat handing it to her.

She tells me that everyone was in the living room, I find my way into the living room to find everyone sitting around talking. I look around for Caspian but who I see makes me frown the girl who I saw having sex with Caspian sitting with his brother.

"Skyler" Mr. Carrington greets me. "How are you dear?"

"Good." I tell him. "How have you been?" I ask and he smiles.

"Happy that my family is back together" he tells me.

"I know the feeling" I look around. "Is Caspian here?"

He looks at the girl before looking back at me with a look and I smile, this dinner is going to be hard enough I don't want to pile on anymore.

"Honey" my mom walks up to me hugging me.

"Hi mom, how are?" I ask.

"Good I just finalized the guestlist for our gala next week" she beams and I shake my head.

My mother the party planner, I sit and catch up with everyone before we were told dinner was ready. I make my way into the dining room taking a seat next to my mother I look at the seat next to me where Caspian should be and it's empty.

I am getting worried he said he would be here but he is not and I don't know if I want to tell them without him. Dinner gets on the way and everyone was sharing stories about the parties and people we have met, I look over at the girl and she looks uncomfortable.

"So honey you said you had some news for us" My mom says pulling me from my thoughts.

I look up at her and she has a big smile on her face I look around the room and everyone is watching me. This is it.

"Well...um...we wanted to tell you guys together but..." I look at Caspian's empty seat. "I guess I'm doing this on my own."

"Oh dear are you pregnant?" My mom asks taking my hand.

"God! No, mom" I shake her hold off. "Caspian and I are staying married" I say and they all look at me in shock. "We wanted to tell you guys together but...apparently something more important came up" I stand.
