~A/N~ Sorry this is so late. I've been sick and forgot to post it on Wednesday and I remembered about it yesterday but then forgot again

I'm not putting the pictures of their costumes on here but I wrote all the costumes down in the chapter

Also I've never seen any of the Thor movies so I'm sorry if they're out of character~

~Around Two Weeks Later ~ The Day Before Halloween ~ Third Person~

Everyone was making sure they had everything for their costumes for tomorrow night. Tony was having a Halloween party at the tower and everyone Tony knew was invited.

He had people setting up the party room while Pepper dragged him to a formal dinner party with people that he really didn't want to be dealing with right now, especially not-

"Stark...?"

Turning around, Tony felt his heart drop. "Cecilia… Reginald… How are you?"

Cecilia fakely smiled at him. "We're doing well… Yourself?"

"I'm good…" He glanced around the room, looking for his girlfriend, who appeared beside him a few seconds later.

"Tony, is everything alright over here?"

"Pep! This is Cecilia and Reginald Cyrus… Ava's parents…" He introduced. "This is my girlfriend and CEO of Stark Industries, Pepper Potts"

"So you're the hussy that replaced my daughter?" Reginald sneered at Pepper

"So you're the hussy that replaced my daughter?" Reginald sneered at Pepper.

"Who the hell are you calling a hussy?!" Tony practically yelled at them, causing Pepper to put a hand on his arm to try and calm him down, since this was neither the time, nor the place to be doing this. "If I recall correctly, you didn't like Ava and I together, so why would you care if I'm with someone else?!"

Rolling her eyes, Cecilia scoffed. "We didn't like you because you weren’t good enough to be with a Cyrus woman. You were just a womanizing man-whore, you didn't deserve her and she deserved so much better than you"

Tony inwardly cringed at her French accent. Back when he was married to Ava, he knew that her parents were from France and that she was born there but she didn't have an accent, due to growing up in New York, which is why he didn't know she spoke French. Because of Ava's parents, Tony had a dislike for French accents. "I changed after I met your daughter, I never cheated on her or disrespected her in any way."

Cecilia scoffed "Highly doubtful…"

"Have you two ever met Jade?" Pepper asked, hoping to calm everyone down.

This time, Tony was the one to scoff. "They never wanted to. Ava tried so hard to get them to meet her but they always made up excuses on why they couldn't come"

"But she's your granddaughter… Ava's little girl…"

Cecilia rolled her eyes, crossing her arms. "She is also his daughter-" She said, her eyes flicking to Tony and then back to Pepper. "-She has his genes, we didn't want to be associated with anyone like him. It was bad enough with him being married to our daughter, let alone having offspring. Our daughter stopped talking to us because of him"

Tony tried his hardest not to deck her right then and there, but he knew it wouldn't look good for his company, so he kept his cool. "Ava loved you and wanted you to be in Jade's life more than she wanted anything else. But when you started talking shit about our newborn daughter, she cut off contact with the two of you because she wasn't going to allow Jade to grow up with Grandparents who despised her just because she was born. It was your fault that Ava stopped talking to you"

"It was your fault that she died!" Cecilia snapped. "If you had kept an eye on that rugrat of yours, her heart never would have given up"

Taking a deep breath, Tony contemplated risking the reputation of his company and beating the crap out of them right then and there. "Ava was there too, we looked away for a split second. You don't think I have regretted that every fucking day for the past twelve years?! I missed her whole life and I can never get that back! I miss Ava every fucking day. There isn't a day that goes by where I don't miss or think of her! It took me years to be able to move on because I never thought I would ever love anybody again the way I loved Ava! Hell, I still don't think I will ever move on. I know that I wasn't good enough for her, trust me, I know. But I will never stop loving her… She was the first person I ever loved"

Nothing he said seemed to phase them. "You're right, you were never good enough for our daughter…"

Pepper looked at Ava's parents. "Please, come meet Jade. I'm sure she would love to meet you and she's the last piece of Ava that you have left… Come to dinner at the tower, please?"

The three of them looked at Pepper like she had ten heads. Tony pinched the bridge of his nose, shaking his head.

"I don't-"

Pepper cut Reginald off. "Please, I insist! Jade doesn’t have any other family, I'm sure she would love to meet you guys. She misses her mother…"

Cecilia and Reginald shared a look, before sighing. "Alright, fine. One dinner…"

Smiling, Pepper nodded. "I'll have someone contact you to set everything up!"
