~IMPORTANT AUTHORS NOTE~

I think I'm going to put this and my other fic "The World We Never Knew" on hiatus for a little while until I finish some of my other WIPs. There aren't many chapters left of The Stark Trap and Dear Peter so I'll continue to update those until they're finished but continuing to update this while also trying to finish some of my many WIPs is a little much for me. I need a break so I can finish my other WIP, and I also need to figure out how I want to end this, it's getting long lol~

Jade looked around the empty living room confused. Someone was always here, even if it was just one person… Usually Harley or Clint were playing video games, or Natasha was painting her nails, or Tony was in the kitchen drinking coffee, or Pepper was making food, or Grace was drawing… But today there was no one… Not even Banner passed out on the couch after a long night.

"Guys? Anyone here?"

Walking down the hallway, she peeked into each bedroom, looking for anyone. Nobody was in there, it was like everyone just vanished… There was always at least one person at the tower.

"Jarvis?"

No answer...

"Friday?"

Again, no answer. Where were they? They were always around? Usually Jarvis manned the tower while Friday manned HQ since it was weird for Vision and everyone there to hear Jarvis' voice. After the Ultron incident, Tony had remade Jarvis because Friday couldn't verbally spar with him like Jarvis could, he had missed Jarvis. But now neither AI was answering Jade… Jarvis loved Jade, she would sit up for hours talking to him about random things, especially when she was first rescued, it helped her cope. He would tell her about the world that she had missed out on, about things that were trending, like shows and movies, about the latest celebrity drama. He would project the night sky onto her ceiling so that she could lay in bed and look at the stars, he would talk to her after nightmares and reassure her that everything was okay. Jade loved Jarvis.

Friday, on the other hand, didn't really have a specific opinion about Jade, nor did Jade have one about her. They never really crossed paths since Jade rarely, if ever, went to HQ and Friday never really connected to the tower since that was Jarvis's job. Friday was still relatively new, she didn’t have the emotional intelligence that Jarvis had… Tony treated Jarvis like an actual person for so long that Jarvis essentially became a person in all but body, he could feel, perceive, and understand emotions, he joked around with them, used sarcasm… He was a person.

He never ignored Jade, even if he was busy he would tell Jade to wait a moment and finish what he was doing so that he could talk to her.

"Jarvis? Bro?"

Again, nothing. Now Jade was starting to worry, she comes home to find no one around and neither AI's answering her. She ran to Tony's office and logged into the network where he kept an eye on everything for the AI's. Jade's heart sank as she looked at the screen. Neither of the AI's were online. They were always online…

Jade ran a hand through her hair. "What the hell is going on?!"

Suddenly, there was a thunk noise from one of the bedrooms. Peter's room, the only room she didn't get a chance to check before she went to check on the AI's.

She shot out of the chair and ran down the hall to Peter's room. She was about to open the door when she heard a female's laugh.

"Peter…" The girl said, laughing again.

Jade recognized the voice immediately. "MJ…?"

She cracked the door open slightly and peeked in. MJ was laying on Peter's bed on her back smiling, while Peter was on top of her, holding himself up with his hands that were placed next to either sides of her head.

Jade's heart sank for the second time today. She went to say something but stopped when she heard a loud bang coming from the living room.

Silently swearing to herself, she unwillingly shut Peter's bedroom door and went to go investigate it.

Standing in the middle of the living room was a man, a man who was the only person Jade saw for twelve years…

"Flint…"

Flint smirked. "Ah so you do remember me."

"What are you doing here?" Jade felt like her heart was going to beat out of her chest. She glanced over towards the hallways, hoping that Peter would hear something and come out.

"I've come to get what is rightfully mine…:

Jade suddenly thought back to a nightmare she had that was just like this…

"Jade?"

Jade went to turn around but Flint grabbed her and held her around the neck with his arm, making it difficult for her to breathe.

Peter stood in the hallway with MJ behind him, he looked at Jade and Flint unconcerned. "What's going on?"

"I've come to get what is rightfully mine," Flint repeated.

Peter shrugged and nodded. "Carry on"

He grabbed MJ's arm and turned to walk back to his room. Jade felt her heart shatter… Is he just going to let him take her? "Peter!" Jade called out to him, though her voice was pained and quiet since Flint's arm around her throat.

Peter stopped, turning to Jade. "What do you want?" He said harshly. Jade felt a sting in her heart. Peter has never spoken to her like that…

"Help me…" She pleaded, tears running down her face.

Rolling his eyes, Peter walked over and grabbed her by the front of her shirt and roughly yanked her out of Flint's grasp "Why should I?"

"B-because… I'm your Buttercup…"

Scowling at her, he shoved her backwards, causing her to fall into the glass table shattering it.

A large shard of glass lodged itself in Jade's back, going all the way through her abdomen, the tip poking an inch out of her stomach. Gasping in pain, Jade shakily grabbed the glass, desperately trying to remove it without hurting herself further. "P-Peter… P-please…" She looked at him with pleading eyes.

"You're not my Buttercup" He said nastily. "I never even liked you, bitch…"

"Jade!"

Jade shot up in bed, dripping in sweat and breathing heavily.

"Are you okay, love?" Peter asked worriedly, brushing a strand of Jade's hair out of her face.

Trying to catch her breath, she nodded. "Yeah… I-I'm fine. How did you know-"

"I was going to get water and I heard your heartbeat suddenly start beating rapidly, that sounds kinda creepy…" He said the last part to himself. "Anyways, I came in here to check on you and you were thrashing around and saying my name… Are you sure you're okay…? What was the nightmare about…?"

Parts of the nightmare flashed through Jade's head: Her kidnapper… Peter and MJ… Peter hurting her…

"Can I shower first and tell you after?"

He nodded, standing up. "Of course. I'll start the shower for you" He kissed her head and made his way to the connected bathroom.

"I can start my own-"

"Can't hear you" He shouted from the bathroom, though Jade knew he could still hear her.
