Him
America POV
Weirdly enough, I'm not in any classes with my brother Canada. As a matter of fact, he tries to avoid me. When he sees me in the hallways, he will pretend not to notice me. I know he's making friends, but I don't get why he's trying to ignore me! Yes, I like isolating myself, but he's acting as if I'm a stranger. I don't want to be that excluded from the world! At least talk to me, brother!
So far, I've seen Canada talk to girls. Fragile countries, to be exact. I guess it makes sense. You have to build from the bottom up. But I feel like he's building his reputation down. We need to come in strong. In my opinion, it is better to be brawny at first than build our way up the ladder.
I walk into the cafeteria to find my brother. Sadly, this is the only period we have together. I look around and find my brother talking to his new friends. Germany and two girls. I subconsciously smile. He seems to be enjoying their company.
What would life be like if I was nicer and didn't care a lot about reputation? I'll have more friends who trust me. Even with trust, these are countries. There is no way their mouth wouldn't lie. If I was nice, Germany wouldn't hate me.
Canada and I make eye contact. He nervously breaks it and gets back to talking with his friends. A girl with dark blonde hair that's braided in neat pigtails notices me. She asks Canada something and looks back at me. She smiles.
"Do you want to sit with us, Thirteen?" She pats the seat next to her. She sounds nice honestly. Maybe I can try being friendlier.
"Yes, thank you." I sit down next to a girl with bangs. "What are your names?"
"My name is Ukraine," The girl in pigtails says, "this is Japan," she says, pointing to the girl in bangs, "and this is Germany as you may know. He's the school's president!"
"We'll see about that," I mumble to myself.
"What was that?" Ukraine asks.
I laugh it off, "It's nothing." Canada sighs, knowing exactly what I'm thinking about. Whenever we move schools, I will always run for president and win because everyone wants to see a new face on stage.
"Your sister's so hot. Is she single?" Japan purrs.
"Japan!" Ukraine shrieks.
Canada chuckles and leans on his arm, "What do you think?" Japan eyes me up and down, a clear blush on her face. Gosh, how I feel like an object.
"Japan! Stop it! Your weirdness is making her uncomfortable." Ukraine slaps the Japanese. She looks at me apologetically, "I'm sorry for my friend's foolishness."
I shrug, "I don't mind, honestly. Japan is pretty cute." I tuck a strand of hair behind Japan's ear. The Japanese blushes harder and covers her face in her arms. I chuckle. Got you...
Thankfully, we moved on from that topic. I started getting to know Japan and Ukraine more. Apparently, Japan loves to draw cartoon-like characters. She has a whole notebook dedicated to it. Ukraine, on the other hand, loves flowers. All she talks about are flowers and it's getting irritating. Canada seems to love listening to her.
"Raine, Pan, Neimcy!" A girl comes rushing over. She hugs Ukraine and Japan. There's a guy who's following her. His brown hair is brushed back and his eyes beam a sadistic glow. We make eye contact. He scans me as if trying to remember a forgotten friend. Who is he?
