"It's been over two years and no progress has been made... what do you plan to do to fulfill our contract?"
"I'm not sure... but now that San is the boss things will be a lot harder. But we did sign a contract so I will do my best to fulfill my side of the agreement."
"You better. You know that if you do not fulfill your side, you will lose everything right?"
"And you are aware that if San finds out what we have been doing he will most likely kill us?"
"..."
"Me he will definitely kill. He might even go as far as to ruin my entire bloodline. But are you sure he would kill you?"
"San is just like his father if not even worse. San will do anything for Wooyoung even if that means killing his own mother."
San was thoroughly engrossed in setting up his new office, and Seonghwa was helping him out. Both of them were busy organizing files and books while simultaneously adding a touch of personal flair to the space. Seonghwa was currently up in the loft, carefully placing books in the bookcases according to San's preferences. Meanwhile, San was busy organizing his desk on the base floor. As Seonghwa hummed a soft tune to himself, he picked up an empty cardboard box and made his way down the stairs. Upon catching sight of San, he couldn't help but smile fondly. San had a contented expression on his face as he gazed down at a photo frame, lost in thought. Seonghwa placed the empty box near a few others and made his way towards San. As he peered over the younger man's shoulder, he noticed that San was holding a photo of Wooyoung.
Seonghwa was very excited and asked, "I haven't seen that photo in ages! How did you even manage to get it? I thought that Wooyoung threw it away." San looked at the older man behind him and said, "Well, you know how Wooyoung always hated photos of himself but he would never throw them away. It took me a whole week to convince him to let me have it. But I'm so happy I did. It's a valuable keepsake." San's voice was filled with pride as he spoke, and he couldn't help but feel grateful for the chance to hold onto such a treasured memory.
Seonghwa's face fell with sadness as he reminisced about the countless times Wooyoung would shy away from having his picture taken. It was heartbreaking to witness such a beautiful person be so critical of their appearance. "Do you think we'll ever find him?" San inquired, breaking Seonghwa out of his thoughts. The truth was, Seonghwa was uncertain if they'd ever be able to find him. Despite the search team's tireless efforts, they had yet to uncover any viable leads.
"I'm not sure if we'll find him, but we won't give up. You have all the resources you need to find him, San. Your father did his best, but now it's up to you to finish the job. Plus, Yeosang will be joining the search team soon, and we both know he's great at his job." Seonghwa's tone was reassuring. San responded with a slight smile, realizing that Seonghwa was right. Although there was a chance they might not find Wooyoung, San was determined to do everything possible to prevent that from happening.
A sudden voice interrupted the conversation between the two male individuals, causing them to turn their heads towards the door. "Knock Knock! Sorry for the interruption!" the voice exclaimed. Yeosang apologized for interrupting the moment and walked over to San's desk, taking a seat on one of the chairs. Seonghwa smiled at the two younger men before he picked up a box filled with books and ascended the stairs, making his way back to the loft.
"Yeosang," San exclaimed, his voice laced with a playful yet stern tone, as he raised an eyebrow. Yeosang, catching on to the playful banter, responded in the same manner before both boys burst into small fits of laughter. Settling down, San took a seat at his desk and asked, "What's on your mind, Yeo?" It was then that Yeosang's expression turned serious, and he began to express his concerns. "San, I know I'm not scheduled to join the search team for another year, but I can't shake off this feeling that something is wrong..." Yeosang took out a folded piece of paper from his pocket. He then unfolded the paper and laid it down on the desk.
San took the paper into his hands as he stared down at it, it was Yeosang's score sheet. "So you know how each task that we do is evaluated and then scored. Once we get enough points we basically have proven ourselves useful and are then able to get a position in the area we want." Yeosang said as San nodded signaling he understood. "So I went over the score sheet that I received today and noticed that although I did very well on the task the score and amount of points I received were super low. I then looked back at all my other score sheets and noticed that although I scored high on the assignment my points were super low."
San sat upright in his chair, his eyes fixed intently on the score sheet in front of him. He had gone through it multiple times already, but the figures remained unchanged and, to his dismay, incorrect. Yeosang had executed every task to the best of his ability, yet his score was a mere 10, a far cry from the 50 points he had expected. In light of Yeosang's impressive performance, San was baffled as to why his score was so low. None of this was making sense.
