Present time:
As he gazes at the pond in the garden, Wooyoung observes the serene movement of the coy fish, swimming without any apparent concerns. However, he is interrupted from his trance as he hears someone calling his name.
"Wooyo! Come inside you have to get ready for tonight" San calls out from the back porch.
He rises from the pond and swiftly heads towards San. A smile broadens on his face as he approaches.
San smiles warmly as he embraces the younger in a loving hug, as they often do. They enjoy cuddling together to sleep, hugging spontaneously, and holding hands while walking, all of which feels completely natural to them.
"Where are you looking at the flowers again?"San asks in a hushed voice
"Yeah"
The younger mumbles out comfortably in the hug.
"You should go get ready okay"
San looks down at the younger and the younger stares back up before breaking the hug.
Sans celebrated his 16th birthday, a significant milestone in the Choi family, along with the 18th and 13th birthdays. The Choi family holds a position of great power in Korea, as they are known to be a part of the Korean Mafia. Some people call them Mors while others call them
죽음 (jug-eum) both meaning death. They are brutal and will eliminate anything and anyone in their path. It's truly terrifying, but this doesn't affect Wooyoung in any way.
On the 16th birthday, everyone in the Mafia gathers as the oldest child will make their first step to becoming the new head. Their first mission. This is a big deal in the family since this will determine if the future head is ready for the future or not. To be determined and ready for the future you must be able to kill somebody without hesitation. You must be able to get the job done. You need to show your leadership skills and see if you can work with others. You need to be able to find solutions to unexpected problems. You need to protect the ones you love. And finally, you must prove your loyalty and never betray your kind.
Today they are seeing if San can do that and if he's ready to inherit the whole organization when he's 18. It's young but that's how it is and that's how it has been for many years.
As the two males walk down the corridor to their rooms the younger can't help but ask.
"Are you nervous? This is a pretty big deal you know."
"Yeah it is a big deal but I'm not nervous as long as I have you by my side then I think I can compete for anything."
The younger smiled as they made their way to his room where they found a box on their bed. The younger looked at the box with confusion as he picked up the box and opened it to reveal an outfit and two necklaces. The necklaces were both on black strings, one with a crescent moon and an ombré from dark purple to light purple, and the other with a star and an ombré from dark blue to light blue. The younger couldn't help but admire them.
Wooyoung gazes in admiration at the necklaces before shifting his attention to the outfit - a white long-sleeved button-up shirt paired with a black tie, black pants, and black gloves. He turns around to face the older who is standing in the doorway.
"Did you get me this?"
Wooyoung asks in astonishment.
The older chuckles at the younger before walking towards him and nodding.
"I did and I would love it if you wore it tonight."
As the younger sets everything down on his bed he gives the older a hug.
"Thank you Sannie! I love it."
The younger says while looking up at the older one during the last part. Both of them stare into each other's eyes.
