Alice

Tristan tells me that Callie isn't around and it's safe for Zoey if I call Tyler over to listen in. I ask Finn if he is okay with it first, who only offers me a stiff nod in response, and everybody waits patiently for me to call on him. It only takes a couple of minutes and after explaining to him what was happening, we all prepare ourselves to finally get some answers. Finally.

"Callie is aware of the showdown we had. Fortunately, she believes it was because you guys remembered who we were and it was an actually fight. Unfortunately, that means she will no longer feel the need to hide who she is from you anymore," he says. "But she is preoccupied right now, so I have a little time to try and explain some things."

Of course, I have to take the blame for this. If I wouldn't have let my anger get the best of me to the point that I flung Tristan out that window, his cover wouldn't have been almost blown, Callie wouldn't be as big of a threat, and whatever she was 'preoccupied' with right now probably wouldn't be making me so nervous.

"I have a question," Cole says, raising his hand in the air.

"We all have questions, dear," Paige reminds him, grabbing his arm and putting his hand down. "That's why we are here."

"I know, but I wanted to go first," he pouts.

"What's your question?" Tristan sighs, already annoyed with having to be here.

"Well, If Callie had been sirening Finn to like, have sex with her or whatever, then why didn't she just siren him to kill Alice in her sleep and get it over with?"

Paige smacks her palm to her face as the rest of us stare at him in disbelief. "You have absolutely no tact do you?" she asks.

"What'd I say?" he asks confused.

"Why don't we come back to that one," Tristan says. "Anybody else?"

We then take turns grilling Tristan for information on everything that we've been wanting to know.

"Why hasn't Callie been able to succeed in killing us for almost three millennia?" Eli asks. "We all saw a memory of her try back in ancient greece. And you as well," he adds, reminding Tristan that he still didn't trust him one bit.

However Tristan doesn't seem fazed by it all and just answers his question. "Partly because of your spell. You have been reborn many times, but it's always somewhere different. The last time Callie even found you was Italy in the 1500s. And the other part being, you four aren't exactly easy to take on."

"My spell?" he questions.

"The four of you made a spell so you could be reincarnated after you die. It was part of a grand plan for you all to be together forever," he rolls his eyes.

We all look at each other, making sure everyone is on the same page about what he just revealed to us. That must have been what we always saw happening in those visions of us holding hands around the fire. The ones where I stab myself. Was that me dying so I could be reincarnated? I still had so many questions.

"Wait, you said that's the last time Callie found us?" I say, confused by his wording. "Don't you mean the last time YOU and Callie found us?"

"No, I find you most lifetimes. Including the one before this in New York, in nineteen ninety-three. However, it took me a longer than usual that time and you were already fourteen when I did."

"If you always knew where we were, why didn't you tell Callie about it?"

"Because you know why," he tells me softly. But I really didn't. I did know that Tristan had been protecting me this whole time. It's just the why that I didn't understand.
