I passed by the cemetery just this morning

Hard to believe you're there and not some faraway place

Or upstairs sleeping in

Tears well in my gaze as this sky turns to gray

Standing alone

Staining my champagne corset

We could've sipped champagne over Vegas skies

But instead the stars were out one night on a foreign terrace

And I dreamed of a girl from long ago

The girl I was

The girl I could've been

The girl I have become

Tonight the stars are dead

My dreams are faded

My memories are gone

Strangers surprise me

Because maybe I am not truly alone

They are all I have known

Haven't heard from Heaven in while

And I'll never dream again

Because I am a stranger

To myself unlike any other

If I sleep time will just run away

But if I remain it will pass me
