You like me when we are alone
Tell me sweet little things
We don't need diamond rings
For maybe this is temporary
I've seen this on a movie screen
Rewind the tape and replay
A moment like this
Your lifetime is unlike mine
I haven't known you for a long time
You like me for me
My story, my life
With your sunglasses on it's hard to tell
Where you are looking
Through a sunroof or into the distance
Or do you glance at me?
Rewind the tape and replay
A moment like this
I don't see a diamond ring
I question, what here is happening?
Fast forward
I am a stranger
I liked it better when we were alone
Because now you gaze into the distance
And I'm struck, reminiscent.
