The door clicked open revealing a man in glasses and probably in his mid forties seated in his office and he wears a white coat on his blue nurse's uniform. The nurse who had opened the door beams the moment her eyes met the man's. He raised his head and looked at her in question.
"Sir, someone is here to see you?" She reported.
"Someone? He got an appointment? He should wait for me outside." He said, sending her away with the gesture of his hands.
"Sir, I think he is the father of that little child. I think you should attend to him since there aren't much people who have appointment with you today!" She said, trying to convince him.
He dropped his pen and pointed his finger at her, already getting irritated. It's not about attending to people, it's about him getting some space. He sighed and sat upright. "Alright, let the man in!"
"Oh thank you!" She rushed out and within a second she ambled in with Faruq before she excused herself giving the man a thumbs up and mouthing. 'You are the best doc.' Before she finally left. He chuckled at the compliments before he faced Faruq with him complete attention.
"And what do you need to know young man?" The man asked.
"It's about my son, I am Faruq Abdulhammed by the way!" He introduced himself, stretching his hands formally to the man for a hand shake. "I am Doctor Eric Chibuzor" he nodded, shaking hands with Faruq before they pulled away.
"I heard my son suddenly slumped while he was playing with his toys in his room and that you said he might likely be having seizure? What is the reason behind that and why does a 2 year old child need a ventilator? Please i want you to enlighten me Mr Eric!" Faruq pleaded.
Mr Eric let out a distressful sigh and lean closer to his desk that his two elbows where on it. "Mr Faruq, your son doesn't have seizure but it likely that he may have!"
"How?"
"You see... The thing is!" He stopped, wondering what to say and how to Say it. This is what a lot of doctors and nurses go through everyday. They don't want to hurt the family but at the same time telling them the truth is what's best for them. He watched as Faruq sat there calmly and waited for his response. He pulled out the file Rukayyah had just opened the moment they got here and passed it on to him, Faruq collected it with caution. The moment he opened the first page he saw Rukayyah's name as his guardian and Sumayyah as his mother and him as the father.
Its true that she has no idea that Summayyah was once married to Khalil and her son is from the Asraf family. He wouldn't want to tell her anytime soon but when she finds out she will feel cheated.
He sighed. How did things get this complicated?
"That is your family file Mr Faruq and your son..."
Faruq was pissed that the man was giving too much tension, he hit his hands on the table in anger and yelled. "Stop wobbling around and tell me what happened to my son, if it's not seizure then what is it? Why did you even say seizure in the very first place?"
"Mr Faruq please calm down, the truth is i didn't want to worry your wife and i had to say it was seizure but that didn't work. The truth is your son was attacked with a silent Asthma."
Faruq brows drew together in confusion. "What do you mean? He is just two years old."
"Yes and that is why i said, your son is Asthmatic!" Mr Eric disclosed as Faruq fell back on the chair dazed. "What!?" He heard but he wasn't sure what it was that he actually heard. Azman is a very smart and beautiful kid. What would have caused him to have Asthma at this young age? Would it be a heritage? But Summayyah is perfectly fine. Is it his father? Or from his family?
