Their meeting ended as soon as they all agreed on terms and its conditions. Faisal left, leaving Ibrahim and Khalil behind. So Ibrahim asked him a question he thought he needed to know. "Don't you think Summayyah will side with you?" He asked and Khalil's face lit up. "I would be over the moon if she does, but Rahma won't be a bad idea isn't it?" Khalil answered, making his way to his car as Ibrahim watched him closely.
"The fight will soon be over and I hope we settle our differences. I have wronged her, but i tried to be good to her, but somehow, someone got between us." He said, starting his car engine.
Ibrahim's brows draw together. "You have someone in mind?" He asked.
Khalil sighed and faced Ibrahim with a creepy smile. "What if i say, the person is right under our nose!"
Ibrahim hissed, getting pretty annoyed. "Stop with the figure of speech and spit it out!"
"Not until the right time, i need to go back home, my wife is gonna be lonely " and he whined up his glasses, reverse and drove out to the exist, leaving Ibrahim standing alone. He hissed, entering his car. “His wife! My foot. It's not as if he liked her" he mutters, starting his own car and driving out.
Meanwhile, Khalil's mind had drifted to the thought of Sumayyah. He had missed her so much and would be lying if he said he isn't jealous of the fact that she's with Faruq and on top of that he has a pregnant wife. 'Just how happy she is living? Does she enjoy staying there with him, more than me?' He contemplated.
'Well of course, he was her first love and it's still new that she accepted to marry him despite having my baby in her womb... she shouldn't have left and we would have worked this together.' He believed, and little by little he started to overthink the situation. Believing what his mind is telling him about Sumayyah and that he has already lost his chance to be with her. The only thing that might even make them cross paths is when she approved of his visitation to see Azman.
Talk about Azman, He looks so healthy. She must be taking really good care of him, while lagging when it comes to herself. Again, all he could think of was Sumayyah, and his life would have been better if he was nicer to her from the very beginning.
But with Maryam in the picture, he can't not help but suspect her for what feels like she is trying to ruin not just his career but his life. If Sumayyah finds out about what I did in the past, how will she look at me? Will she ever believe that I am innocent? He ponders, letting out an excruciating sigh. ‘I just want her to be happy! Oh Harun, what was it you wanted to tell me before you passed away!’ He notions.
Just then, a speeding Rangeover overtook him making Khalil shudder and bringing him out of his thoughts, immediately reaching for his brake and stepped on it to slow down, but to his greatest amusement, the brake was lighter than expected and his car wasn't slowing down either. It was as if, if he didn't let go, he would lose control.
The brake! it loose! He cried as his heart started beating rapidly, panicking due to the speed his car was going at and the horns he was getting from the cars behind he were trying to move out of his way to avoid damage. "Subhanallah!" He cried, trying to calm himself. Then, he suddenly recalled an emergency lesson he got whenever he faces challenges and one of them was how to slow down your car when it loses it brakes. Do, he quickly took his leg off the gas pedal and turned on his hazard light. He pumps on his brake fast and hard and shifts to a lower gear.
He then pulled the emergency brake with a smooth even pressure and lastly, he used the guardrail by his left to slow down, by rubbing the side of his car against it, and to his surprise it stopped. He breathed heavily, pressing his head on the steering wheel to calm himself as people stood around watching while other cars passed by at a fast speed.
