Immediately after subhi prayer, Sumayyah made a lie for it at that spot. With her sleepy brown eyes, she slowly shuts it close and tries to sleep some more. She needed today to be her very own day without the need to worry or stress over everything because she knows, Allah knows best.
You might get sleepless nights, trying to plan for a day you won't even be part of. So for her, she wants to make every moment in her life count.
As she drifts into a sound morning sleep just before the sunrise, she begins to dwell into a place she knows nothing of. It was dark, yet it's chilled. She had never seen snow in Nigeria but the place she was at, there was snow falling right above her head and standing in front of her was Khalil. Smiling warmly at her, asking her to join in to her own restaurant.
'Why can't I hear his voice? What is he saying? Why are we here?' She thought to herself.
He reached his hands to hold hers, but when she didn't give out her hand, he grabbed it gently and softly from her side as they walked into the restaurant. From the moment of her entrance, everything around was bring Orange and sparkling. They were people she didn't recognise and she couldn't even see their faces clearly but she could only see her husband's, holding her hand and interacting with other people. The first thought that came to her was.
'Is this a dream? What am I dreaming of?'
The next moment, she stared at a very genuine smile of her once upon Man which hideously turned to monstrous. The room became so dark that the wind outside blew out the electricity. People running rampat and she who was left confused. She tried to follow the crowd but he held her hand tightly. As she turned around to face him, her heartbeat hardened and eyes widened in fright to find him covered in blood and even stained her. "Whose blood is that?" She asked, her voice was dried up in her throat but she could hear herself.
He didn't say a word, but the moment she got a glimpse at him. She found his eyes holding no emotions at all, and that his face was also stained. She became so terrified that her eyes averted behind him. There lies a man covered in blood, which she supposed he was talking to earlier and a gun in Khalil's free hand.
She jolted, terrified that she tried to make a run but she missed a step and fell hard and stiff to the ground. She was groaning in pain as she tried to crawl out because fear wont let her stand. Khalil started taking a few steps towards her and the moment she turned around, a gun was pointed right at her forehead and he was smirking at her.
Her face went pale as she stared at him in fright, her eyes googling, her body was shivering and her hands were getting cold. As she opened her mouth to scream, her voice betrayed. She could not call for help because the only ones who remained in the restaurant were the both of them. The two of them were frozen at their spot, one shivering in fear and the other cold as Ice. The thing that occurred was a gunshot right on her forehead.
She gasped in terror, Immediately waking up from her nightmare, sweating all over that even with the AC on she still felt heat. She was left dumbstruck and confused by what she had just seen in her dream. "Was Khalil trying to kill me?" She mutters panting as her eyes widened and fixed right at the Qibla. She breathed in and out sharply "It was just a nightmare isn't it?" She asked herself. She breathed again. “No one is trying to kill you, not Khalil” she mutters again, trying to confront herself as she hears the falling of a pot cover. She shuddered. "Why in the world would such a beautiful dream turn horrific within a moment? " She mutters.
Ya Allah, forgive me and protect me from the evil that which you created. AMEEN.
She checked the time on her phone which says 10:15. I have been sleeping for long, so everyone must be awake and having breakfast by now. She got up immediately from the dadduma (prayer mat) and headed to the toilet to freshen up. Just then she started feeling Dizzy again. She supportted herslefby the door until she felt stable and groaned. 'What now?' She cried inwardly.
