She would be lying if she said that she wasn't Bemused by Faisal's abs but It's way out of her calibre. Sitting still in his living room, she was so uncomfortable. Never had she ever made such risky decisions to come to a man's place before. What if someone sees her? What if her family comes here? Series of what if races through her mind and made her so uneasy.

Meanwhile, Faisal offers to serve them the chops she had brought. It was two Chicken pies and two soft drinks for just the two of them. When he came out of the kitchen with the tray of snacks, she breathed out in relief to find him on his shirt. She scoffs and lowered her head.

"Are you still shy?" He asked, and she shook her head. "No, I am not and I wasn't!" She blurts.

He giggled and sat on the opposite sofa, gesturing to her to help herself. She reached for the water but something came off her. What if he drugged me?
Oh ya Allah. I should go home since he is fine. But I can't just leave like that.

She let out a deep sigh inwardly and pulled away from the glass cup, Faisal noticed and asked. "You are not drinking?"

"I am not thirsty, thank you"

He nodded, pressing his lips together. "You think I drugged the water, didn't you?"

She choked. "What the hell? Faisal!"

He laughed. "Just kidding, i love teasing you"

"I ... I don't like that, why would I even think you'd do that?" She hissed, even though she knew she did think that, she surfs through her phone. He reached for the class cup she had intended to pick and drank from it. Somehow, reassuring her that he didn't spit her water. She watched him carefully as he drank half of the cup then dropped it. "Most people will think the drinks or water is drugged, especially from girls like you"

'Girls like me?'

"You don't look comfortable, if you don't mind we can go somewhere, outside or..." He said, standing up but she quickly sat up right.

"I am more than comfortable, we don't need to leave. Come on seat down!"

He nodded and sat back down. The silence between them grew with every passing second while they were still awkwardly pressing their phones but that wasn't the case, halima here had nothing to say, while Faisal was waiting to hear why she came. It took her another few seconds to finally speak

"I... I heard you were fired!" She started off. "I'm sorry, that..."

"Halima?" He called, his voice was dead and his eyes held no emotion, just how much has he been enduring?

"If you came here to pity me, then you are wrong. I am totally fine with whatever that has happened for Allah is the best of all planners. I got fired not because I couldn't do my work properly but because I foresee the future, both Khalil and Ibrahim couldn't. Now they should figure it out themselves!"

"Foresee the future? No. I don't think that is a good idea, Faisal Abokana yan kane fa?" (They are your friends) "you shouldn't be saying things like this. You need to help them, get whatever they want. The company isn't theirs alone, it's also that of the employees. Come on!"

He laughed dryly. "I like how you try so hard to encourage me with your words, but that ain't happening. Arif will be coming back soon. At least he has secured the Omar oil group in kebbi." He sighed and reached for the bottle of water in the tray.

"Halima?" He called and this time, it was relaxing and pleasant to the ear. She looked up to him to see him smile at her. "Do you love me?"

"Huh?" She didn't expect him to ask her such a question in the middle of a serious conversation. She stayed mute and it gave him the response he expected. "As expected, I will wait though." He mutters, sipping.
