Khalil had changed. Ever since he was discharged from the hospital, he had barely acknowledged Aisha, no longer showering her with the attention she once commanded. He had reverted to his cold and distant self, making her overthink—had he found out the truth?

That morning, Ibrahim had called, informing him that Summayyah had arranged their meeting at the hotel he had suggested. It would take place after Asr, at 4 PM. The news disappointed him—why hadn't she called him herself? Nevertheless, he would meet her.

As he stepped out of his room, he took a deep breath, making his way to the sitting room to grab his car keys.

I hope she agrees to my visitation, he thought, his mind preoccupied. But his train of thought came to an abrupt halt when he spotted Aisha pacing furiously in the living room, her face twisted in anger.

"What's going on?" Khalil asked, his voice neutral.

Aisha spun around, her eyes blazing. "You've been ignoring me since you got out of the hospital," she spat. "And you haven't even asked about our child."

Khalil raised an eyebrow, his expression uninterested. "Our child?" he repeated. "You mean the child you claim is mine?"

Aisha's face darkened. "How dare you," she hissed. "You know that child is yours."

Khalil snorted. "I don't know anything of the sort," he said, his voice was cold. "And even if I did, I'm not sure I'd want anything to do with it."

Aisha's eyes widened in shock. "How could you say that," she Whispers. "Don't be so heartless!" She spat

Khalil smiled, a cold, calculated smile. "You want to talk about heartless eh?" he said, his voice dripping with venom. "Let's talk about you, Aisha. Let's talk about how you've been manipulating me for years, using your body and all sort of things, your lies to get what you want."

Aisha's face paled, her eyes darting back and forth. "Khalil, please," she whispered.

But Khalil was unstoppable. "I rejected you didn't I!? But you still didn't stop. And let's talk about how you dug up dirt on Summayyah, trying to chase her out of my life, you think I didn't know you were stalking me when I got married or coming to my house to threaten my innocent Maid? You got some nerve eh" he continued, his voice rising.

When she didn't say anything, Khalil took a step closer to her, his eyes blazing with fury. "And I know you're the one who burned down her restaurant. You're a monster, Aisha."

Aisha's face crumpled, and she burst into tears. "I did it all for you," she sobbed. "I did it all because I love you."

Khalil's expression was contemptuous. "You call that love? You're sick, Aisha. You need help because you are nothing but a poisonous, manipulative woman, Aisha. And I'm done with you."

Aisha's face crumpled, her body shaking with sobs. "No you can't do this Khalil! I can't leave without you I swear" she cried, but he ignored her. "Then leave!" He answered later.

The anger in her rises and glared at him deadly. "You'll regret this, Khalil," she spat, her voice venomous. "I'll make sure you regret this."

Khalil's laughter was cold and mirthless. "I'm shaking in my boots," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "And by the way, Aisha? Who were you speaking with on the phone or it doesn't matter, I hardly even recognize you because of how evil you have become. You should probably take that child to its real father." He added, pointing at her little bump. "Because I'm not interested in playing daddy to your lies. This time. It's Summayyah and I am bringing her back, so do not interfere" he warned before picking his car key on the Coffee table and walking out, slamming the door behind him.
