After Maryam left the station, she headed to the HxH law firm and stepped into Malik's office, not just the waiting area but inside. She was done being patient. She wanted answers. And this time it's not the one she would wait at home and run crazy by the end of the day.

"Have you seen the file?" she asked, standing tall, arms folded across her chest.

Malik didn't look up immediately. He leaned back in his chair and exhaled through his nose before nodding. "I've seen it."

Her brows lifted slightly, waiting for more. "It's... intense," he added. "Even for someone like you. That's a lot of violence just to win a case."

Maryam shrugged like it didn't matter. "As long as justice is served."

He tilted his head. "I've already spoken to the judge. Our complaint has been filed. The court date is coming soon."

Her lips curled into a smile. Finally. Very soon, Khalil would be crawling at her feet, begging for her forgiveness. Because that is what she had been waiting for.

But deep down, Malik knew the truth. All of it. Still, it wasn't his place to question. He was just doing his job, whether he liked it or not and more importantly he gets to battle against Summayyah, that also motivates him.

The next day, Summayyah walked into her office and found Rahma waiting for her in the waiting area, discussing something with Eric before she called them both to her office and asked Rahma for any updates.

"They've made all the preparations for the trial," Rahma said right away. "It's just up to you now to choose the date."

Summayyah blinked and turned to Eric. "There's already a trial set by Malik," He replied. "It's moving fast." Summayyah sat down reminiscing everything before a loud bang of the door startled them. She cursed under her breath followed by Hamza annoying grunts. "Don't worry they do that everyday!" Eric told Rahma, referring to Hadiza and Hamza.

Later in the day, Summayyah was called to Natasha's office to fill her in on the matter because lately she seemed so busy that her time in the Firm is always little.

"We have two trials," Natasha said, flipping through her notes. "One for murder, one for fraud. And both are coming up back to back, one each week."

Summayyah sighed and nodded, feeling the weight of it all settle on her shoulders. "This is going to be messy."

"Very messy," Natasha agreed.

Meanwhile, Halima just left her office and was heading to her car when Jamila called her, she picked on the first Ring. "What's up babe, ya kike ya gida!"

"Lafiya kalau Kalau, ya Aiki!"

Halima sighed. "Toh Gashi Nan dai mu na kanyi! (Tor we are on it), have you spoke to Summayyah ne!?"

Jamila shook her head. "Her line is always busy or she's on another call or offline. She's not always available!" Jamila hissed.

"Tor when she has a child now and working very hard, she wouldn't really have time like she used too! Did you leave her a message!?"

"No, either way, I'm almost done with my masters, my defense is coming up next week!" Jamila squeezed making Halima grins. "Hold on!" She said as she entered her car and switched it to Video call to just see her reaction.

"I'm so happy for you, you really tried Wlhi!"

"Hmn, it's finally over... however what about you are your guy Faruq? What's the update!?

"His busy, we hardly make calls and chat, I dunno before he wasn't like that and..."

"Really relationships are not caught up for you, they start something you like and then leave you waiting, did you try reaching him!?" Jamila asked but Halima shook her head. "You should, leave him a message asking him how the work is and from what you said he must really be having a hard time now that he is fired and I just saw that William has been arrested, he may also be the reason their company is falling" Jamila added.
