I don't mean to offend anyone who's written something using these things. They're clichés for a reason. On the contrary, I want to give you alternatives to these. That way, you could make the best story possible without falling victim to a ticked off reader.

As a writer and reader, I just want to help you out. And hey, if you experience these and/or hate them too, you can rant right along with me. You could always request things that you hate seeing right here, and I might make a more in depth chapter about it.

I'm not the best writer, but avoiding these things (in my opinion) has definitely helped my writing. So, go ahead. Read and rant to your hearts content, and if you do see some of these things in your own writing, remember: Not all writing that includes these is bad. They just end up happening a lot, and are best to avoid if you want a reader to individualize your writing from other books.

I hope you enjoy this book and find it relatable. I made it to know that I'm not alone out there, and, if you want, I could make a book of tips for new writers.
