"My pov:

Huh, who were they?

My hot boyfriend's pov:

I never saw them before.

???'s pov

Why are they so confused?

Coffee's pov:

NO JU- STOP! END THIS NOW!!!"

Alright, it depends on situation when it comes to switching narrators. Sometimes when I'm reading a fanfic and I see "pov of (insert character here)" once in a while, I think it's fine. But all the time?

Sure, it's cool to get someone else's point of view, but having every character speak their mind in one paragraph every time someone does something mildly interesting will not slide.

Sure, sometimes it's acceptable. If you're making a fanfic and you give me half a chapter from a lovable cartoon character's perspective, I'll probably think it's cool to step into their shoes. If you make a chapter with a perspective other than main character (maybe a mystery character that'll be important later, or a known character whose true ambitions aren't known and it'll be obvious/revealed it was their pov in a future chapter, or a character who has certain feelings for another character, etc.) than of course I'll be excited about the change of atmosphere. These are all fine and make your story even better if done correctly.

Also, don't do those "???'s pov" things. While it might be tempting, if you have an unknown perspective, you don't need to label it. If you want a mystery, give your readers a little brain teaser to guess who's perspective it might be. Writing three question marks in place of a name looks kind of stupid.

If you want, you can have a reliable omnipotent narrator rather than a ton of first person segments. This will make your story flow a lot more coherently. And on top of that, it can also make it sound a bit more "professional," because most stories are written that way.

"Overall, just don't overuse something to the point of obnoxiousness. Vote and comment if you liked it, and I'll see you next chapter!"
