Entry 69: (*Nice*)
Sona Sitri POV:
I have met many beings throughout my life, and while my experience pales in comparison to others, like my older sibling, I can get a general read on people.
Such a skill is required to establish my school for rating games for the reincarnated Devils, but now I have met an oddity.
For one minute, this huge Angel helps maintain our cover by introducing himself in a manner that would not arouse suspicion.
In the next, he is having a standoff with all of us to either prove his dominance or was generally waiting for someone to speak first and take the initiative.
The irreverence towards our older siblings is rather rude but understandable as we are from opposing factions, and from the strength I sense, it reminds me of my eldest sister.
It is like standing next to an ocean of strength, but in this case, it's like standing next to a fire, not the sun like a divine being associated with it, but a fire, a well-controlled but deadly thing.
The feeling is both comforting and off-putting. And as my fellow town owner introduces herself in her grand manner, this Angel surprises me yet again.
He blatantly called out my friend for her display, as she most definitely did practice that in the mirror, as her residence is not as private as she believes it to be.
In addition to the fact that he has been focusing on each of our expressions as he calls out Kiba for being so intense, which makes him perpetually dumbfounded.
Yet after the room recovers from what the Angel had stated, he clears his throat and beckons that my group introduced themselves.
I begin by introducing myself, "As you know, I am Sona Sitri, heiress of the Sitri Pillar, along with my peerage that consists of my queen Tsubaki Shinra, my knight Tomoe Meguri, my rook Tsubasa Yura and my bishops and pawn Momo Hanakai, Reya Kusaka, and Riruko Nimura.
As their names are mentioned, they give him a slight bow, which he returns with a nod as he commends their courage for coming.
(Remember that Saji was not recruited until when Issei was reincarnated as a devil.)
"Well, I met all of you. I shall introduce myself. I am Anakim, an angel of the Lord. I greet you all in the light."
An interesting greeting, as I have not heard an angel saying that as Rias has composed herself, she asks the Angel, "Well, Anakim-Sama, we have noticed the presence of the fallen in our territory and wonder if you may enlighten us on their mission?"
The Angel then ponders his response as he states, "Their mission was to monitor this town on the orders of Azazel but were not given permission by the local gods to be here, and as they have taken residence in the church, they have breached Heaven's sovereignty."
Understandable in this context, but he still needs to reveal why they are here.
"In terms of why they may be here. The Fallen may be seeking something in this town, a magician, a rogue agent we do not know, but I can only guess."
It seems like he himself does not know why they're here and is only here to help heaven learn of their intentions, and as we now know, they are on the orders of a member of the Grigori. This makes matters more complicated.
I respond by asking, "Well then, it seems the question is now what these fallen angels are seeking, is it not?"
The Angel nods as he looks out the window towards the church. "In all honesty, I am simply here to inform both of you so that there are no misunderstandings, and while I cannot move against them once they make one slip up, I will take action."
As he says this, he pulls out what I assume is his weapon, but as I see it, my very body goes cold.
What in all of hell is that!?
The amount of energy radiating off of that blade should be burning me to a crisp, but it's not, and I assume it is the Angel keeping it from doing so.
No one can even go into a fighting stance as we are all frozen by the pure power radiating off of the Angel and the blade.
The Angel then puts the sword away in states with finality in his tone, "Let it be known that I hold no enmity against your kind. But now that I am here, I must remain responsible for the humans of this town, and I will be searching the town for any stray devils that appear."
He then pulls out a piece of paper, which he hands me. I read it, and my eyes widen as it states that not only can he openly enter and leave this town, but he can deal with any enemies he sees fit.
I then slammed the piece of paper onto the desk in frustration as the Angel looked on with an almost indifferent look on his face.
"This is preposterous. We had heard you are allowed into this town and not that you may have free reign."
The Angel then shakes his head and says, "You misunderstand. I do not have free reign. You both are still the owners of this place, but I simply have permission to enter and leave if I come with a purpose, and the only reason I am hunting stray devils is that they allow me to."
That is essentially the same thing, but I can see the caveats as we are still the ones that make the rules here, and it is not like this Angel will seemingly attack us out of nowhere.
"if any of you are worried that I am a target interview, let it be known that you have my word that none of you shall be harmed." This does bring some relief.
Specifically, because the vows of angels are considered sacred, and if that was broken, they will fall unless it is done so by the other party house.
But as the talks wind down, the Angel does something interesting. he walks over to Akeno and says.
"I asked that you not deny your potential as whether or not, you know, your father does love you. Do not let your grief and unwillingness to move on deny your future."The statement shocks the room as the Angel leaves, giving us one last look over and then an almost remorseful smile, which I admit to being lost in for a time, and the door closes.
Rias's queen then rushes after the Angel, but he is gone with only a message left with a white feather on top.
It reads, "Do not let your past define your future, and Sona, you look good in a magical girl outfit."
The last part confuses me as I then notice my clothes have changed into a magical girl outfit as I scream, "Anakiiiim!"
And I swear I hear joyful laughter about the halls.
(I hope this first interaction was decent as I am trying to establish my character as an independent element while also trying to walk around the minefield that is DXD politics while also trying to have some fun along the way.)
