The Backrooms

(DARREN POV)

It's been a week since the crash, and I'm kinda just.. getting used to everything. I'm actually kinda curious if we're the only one's here in this wasteland, so why not go explore and look for people?

I have Rook with me on my back as we're flying through the splattered, color changing sky. So far? Nothing. Not even with my hawk vision (yes I can turn into a bird. Remember my mask?). All we see is rolling hills and the occasional tree here and there. I look up at the sky. It's almost mesmerizing in a way. We could just both get lost in this sea of colors almost immediately.

"Hey look! Building." Rook says,

I look over and see a dingy cream white building, kinda stands out from all the flashy colors around it on the ground, even in the sky.

"Ooo.. Building." I smile as I fly towards it. We dive towards it and I flap my wings, slowing myself down before landing on the ground in front of the towering building, nothing but a single open garage door on the front. We look past it and see.. the backrooms!?

"Yoooo is that the backrooms!?" I exclaim,

Rook laughs as she gets off of me, and I turn back into a rat, "I sure hope not,"

"Heh. This'll be fun." I smirk, and turn back at Rook, "Cmon!"

We walk into the backrooms...

(OK!! TIME FOR A POV CHANGE!! GARU POV!!)

I open the cat food can and climb out of the tent, with Mio behind me. We go over to the side of the tent and I set the can down on the ground, where Mio runs at it and begins eating. I'm quite happy that I got an end tent, it gives me space from the other people so I can do my own thing.

I sit next to Mio eating his breakfast, glance at him and smile. I close my eyes and begin to meditate. Breathing in, and out. Hearing nothing but the world around me. The people in the distance, the swirly sky above, and the gentle winds pressing against the tent behind me.

"MEW!"

I hear Mio. I look back at him and see Tobe petting Mio. 

"Hi Garu." He briefly looks up at me.

....

This better not be another trick. I turn back around and pretend like I'm meditating, but I keep my one eye on him. Mio starts purring the more Tobe pets him. 

I then hear a screech noise and look over. It's Sonic. 

"Hey guys I just seen this awesome city ahead!"

"...and?" Tobe looks at him, 

"Aaaand I think it would be cool if we all hung out over there. Yknow, played games, run around, grabbed some chili dogs," He explains, then holds out his hand towards me, "You could bring your friend along with ya,"

And there goes my meditation time. 

"Uh- ok." Tobe stands up, "I guess I could."

"Thats what I like to hear!" He picks Tobe up, and picks me up, "C'mon boys let's blast!"

Sonic holds us in his arms as we zoom off. It takes us a mere seconds before we reach the city... And I thought I was fast. Wait, why is Sonic so fast?

"Here we are!" He drops us, "Welcome to Club City!"

We get up and look around. The buildings around here look round, and somehow less colorful and splattery than the sky above. Every window and door is glowing. The roads beneath us are somehow completely grey. There are also all kinds of ...creature things walking around.
