"He didn't come in today." Haerin shrugged, taking out a bagel from the display case and transferred it onto a plate. "That's why I've been in here since seven in the morning."

Haerin took some cutlery and placed them neatly onto the tray along with a napkin. "That asshole left all the work to me." She grumbled and took the order to its respective costumer.

A slight crease formed on Serin's forehead. Yoongi's absence at work had changed from a few times to almost every week.

"May I take your order, miss?" Chanwoo stood in front of her with the brightest smile he could muster despite him being exhausted from the long day of work. His eyebrows wiggled at her knowingly as to why she was even here.

Serin blinked away her daze, slowly looking up at him. "Um," She quickly looked up at the menu above him, feeling a bit embarrassed because she didn't even notice the long line behind her. "Cold chocolate would be fine."

She stepped away from the front of the counter and apologetically smiled at the old lady behind her. "Next time, if you haven't made up your mind, you shouldn't line up yet."

Serin's smile faded when the old woman snapped at her. "Sorry, ma'am." She mumbled and directed herself to one of the vacant seats. Guess someone's grumpy tonight.

From a distance, she could see Haerin eyeing her with her hands pressed against her hips. It's been quite some time when Serin had noticed that Haerin didn't particularly like her.

Every time she would come into the café, Haerin always had her eyes on her as if she were about to attack her. On other days she would just completely ignore her as if she wasn't even there.

Haerin's eyes showed the slightest bit of surprise when their eyes met. Seemed like she wasn't really expecting Serin to even notice her shooting daggers at her from across the room.

Haerin immediately shrugged it off; slightly shaking her head at the thought that she was caught staring.

When she was on her way back to the counter, as she was on a hurry, she didn't notice how the table was out of its place. A loud screech echoed through the whole store as she accidentally dragged the whole table with her.

Everyone went silent as all eyes landed on her.

Her cheeks flushed pink and she felt a big bubble of nervousness fill up her chest. "S-Sorry," She mumbled and scurried into the storage room, making sure she covered her face.

"It's been a while, huh?" Minji smiled as she shut the door behind the two of them.

Serin nodded in agreement, a small smile making its way onto her lips. "I missed working with you."

"Stop being so cheesy, Rin." Minji stuck her tongue out and pretended to vomit with her finger pointing up her throat. "It's gross."

"You know, you're still a little shit. You know that, right?" Serin punched her arm a little and then walked deeper into the studio where she once stayed at almost every day.

Minji clucked her tongue and followed her around. She was trying to stop herself from jumping on her and give her the biggest hug because she, indeed, missed her friend.

"I think you owe me stories." Minji clung onto her wrist and dragged her back onto the wooden desk that seemed like it was about to collapse. "You know, this desk has been here for almost two years. I think you should change this."

"Stop trying to change the topic, Kim Serin!"

Serin ducked her head and obediently took a seat on the tall stool. It still made her feel stiff, just like it did two years ago when they bought it at some antique store downtown.

Minji stared at her for a moment, taking in the details that had gradually changed over the past months. "You've gotten quite slimmer, huh?"

"Haven't been sleeping well lately." She shrugged like it wasn't something of importance. "It's back?" Minji frowned.

"It's never left, Minji." Serin chuckled bitterly and fiddled with the ends of her scarf. "But it's okay." She breathed. "I wouldn't be having my own studio if it wasn't for it anyway."

Minji reluctantly nodded her head as she looked around, trying to think of something else to talk about. "Which reminds me!" She snapped her fingers as she erupted into soft giggles.

"How's Jongin?"

A sad smile as she shrugged once again. "Don't ask me that."

"What? Have you broken up?!" Minji's eyes grew wide. She had always been a fan of the couple, insisting that they were the most perfect couple she had ever seen.

"What? No, no it's not like that!" Serin chuckled and finally took off the scarf that wrapped around her neck. She had a habit of fiddling with things whenever she felt unsure.

Minji crossed her arms against her chest and raised her eyebrows, expecting an answer from her. "Then what's with the 'Don't ask me that' shit?"

Serin sighed and rested her head on the table as that all too familiar empty feeling settled in her chest again. "I-I'm confused, Minji."

"Confused about what?"

She wasn't sure of how she would react. She wasn't even sure of how she should tell her. "I-I don't know."

Minji rolled her eyes and shifted in her seat as she waited for her to continue. "I'm sure you know the answer."

Serin let out a breath and looked up at Minji who was already looking at her. "There's this boy—"

"Oh my god—"

"Shut up, Minji!"

"Okay! I'm sorry, I'm sorry!"

Once again, she rested her head on her hands as she organised her thoughts. Her mind was going crazy with thoughts flying all over the place but she only had a handful of words to say.

"Is this that guy who was freaking out about you moving to Daegu?" Minji cautiously asked, chuckling to herself as she thought of her choice of words.

"Yeah," Serin nodded and let out another sigh.

The silence was back once again. It was slowly eating away her ability to restrain herself from running out of the studio and just go home because she definitely hated confrontations.

"You don't wanna talk?" Minji stood up from her seat and walked over to her. She held onto her shoulders as she waited for her answer.

Serin shook her head a little, not even daring to look up at her. "I-I don't really know what to say."

"Then I'll ask you something." Minji cracked a smile and forced her to look at her. "Are you falling for him?"

The small flame inside of her chest, the one that warmed her heart whenever she was near him broke out into a bigger flame that it felt like she was choking up with her own feelings.

A combination of feelings that she never knew could even collide. She felt a mixture of sadness, happiness, excitement and even anger that mixed up so well she wasn't so sure what she was feeling anymore.

Her breath grew heavy as all she could think of was him and only him. How his face seemed too innocent for the world and the slight memory of how his voice sounded at 6 in the morning.

She looked up at Minji with the slightest of smiles. "I already have."
