Minutes passed and he was still nervously standing in front of the wooden door, unsure of his decision. It wasn't his decision after all. If Chanwoo hadn't guilt tripped him, then coming here wouldn't even cross his mind.
After all, he was always used to being chased.
A sigh escaped his chapped lips as he finally managed to have the courage to face her once again after what happened just a few days ago.
He wouldn't forget the horrified look on her face when he punched the wall, and the guilt that bubbled in him when she probably thought that he would hurt her, even though he knew he would never do that. Not on purpose, at least.
The fear that he felt was unclear to him because he wasn't really afraid of things, especially when it came to situations like this. He always thought that time and space was enough to heal.
But time and space, alone, aren't enough.
And so, he reaches out, hesitating a little and pulls his hand back, thinking of all the possible worst case scenario but reaches out again and rests his hand on the doorknob, silently counting to himself.
Just as he pushed his thoughts to the back of his mind, the door swung open, making him stumble backwards almost tripping over his own feet.
"We're closed." The boy said coldly. Yoongi tried to stifle his laughter as the seemingly teenage boy spoke in a rather low voice that was far from what he had expected.
"I-I'm looking for Kim Serin?"
"I said we're closed."
"No, I'm a friend of hers." Yoongi shifted to the right, blocking the boy's way once again. The boy groaned in annoyance, staring at him, not amused by his actions.
Yoongi stared back at the boy, noticing how he seemed younger than him. The boy was probably a few inches taller than him but that didn't faze him; his brown hair rested on top of his eyebrows making him look like he had none at all.
Suddenly, he turned around unlocking the studio with a key he had in hand. The boy motioned for Yoongi to enter, "It's cold out." He shrugged and walked into the studio with Yoongi trailing behind him.
"Why are you looking for her?" The boy abruptly stopped in his tracks, making Yoongi bump into his back. "Well?" He turned around with that same blank face.
"Uh—I just have to say something really important to her." Yoongi was slowly growing impatient with him. Who was he anyway?
The boy tapped on his chin as he thought of what to say next, "Just tell it to me and I can tell her when she comes back."
Yoongi immediately shook his head, "Just tell me where she is and I'll tell her myself—"
"How do you know my sister?"
"Excuse me?"
The boy nodded, reaching a hand out, "Kim Taehyung," He started. "Kim Serin's brother."
Some sort of nervousness rushed through him as he hesitantly stretched his arm out, giving Taehyung's hand a firm handshake as he tried to process what was happening.
"I'm still a high school student but don't think that I wouldn't beat you up if you do something stupid, alright?" Taehyung stared at him, clenching and unclenching his fists resting on his sides. "So don't do anything stupid."
Yoongi nodded his head once again, confused with how Taehyung managed to change topics so quickly.
Taehyung plopped down on the couch, leaving him awkwardly standing in the middle of the room. "My sister has a boyfriend. You know that, right?"
Yoongi could only nod to reply to him. He found it amusing how Taehyung seemed unfazed by how awkward he was making him feel.
"As much as I don't like that punk, I don't want you to be in the way of their relation—"
"Who do you think you are, her father?" Yoongi, annoyed, crossed his arms across his chest, half regretting what he said yet half proud at the same time.
Taehyung was caught off guard by his bluntness, silencing him for a good whole minute. "Coming here was useless. I feel bad for you." He finally spoke up.
Although still annoyed, Yoongi's brows knitted together in confusion. "What are you saying?"
"She isn't here if you haven't noticed." Taehyung rolled his eyes. "She's at Japan. She left three days ago, taking a stroller bag with her."
"Japan?!"
"Too bad for you, I don't know if she'll be coming back any time soon."
Shit. He thought to himself. He was beginning to think that leaving and disappearing was her plan of escaping her problems. It was her way of escaping from him.
He ran his hands through his hair a couple of times, not being able to wrap his head around what he just found out.
"But since I'm worried about her, I'm giving you the address where she's staying at." Taehyung scribbled down on a torn piece of paper and handing it to him. "I can't follow after her since I've got classes."
He jabbed his finger on Yoongi's chest while making a hissing noise. "And remember," Taehyung shook his finger, "Don't do anything stupid."
Yoongi hurriedly took the paper, shoving it into his pocket, "Thank you!" He ran towards the door even though he still wasn't sure as to what he was going to do next.
He just couldn't accept that maybe he was just too late.
