He was fidgety. He hated to admit it, but he was always half expecting that chirpy girl to come stop by the shop for the past two weeks, yet nothing happened. She didn’t come.
Chanwoo had told him a few times that maybe she had gotten fed up with him which Yoongi quickly replied with a punch on the shoulder then Chanwoo chuckling, claiming that he was joking.
“Maybe it’s time that you make a move, right?” Chanwoo nudged onto his shoulder and wiggled his eyebrows. “What are you trying to say?” Yoongi scrunched his eyebrows.
“Come on, I’m not an idiot—“
“Yes, you are.”
Chanwoo smacked his palm at the back of Yoongi’s head and threw the rag across the table. “I’m trying to fucking help you here.” He yelled with a scowl on his face.
Yoongi hissed as he rubbed the back of his head with a frown on his face.
He clucked his tongue and crossed his arms across his chest. “Help me with what?”
“It’s so obvious that you’re waiting for that girl—“
“Her name is Serin.”
Chanwoo rolled his eyes and continued. “Okay, Serin. You’ve been waiting for that Serin girl but since you’ve been pushing her away,” He raised his hands onto Yoongi’s shoulders and shoved him backwards.
“She’s probably sick of your shit.” He concluded and rubbed his hands together.
Yoongi looked at him quizzically. He couldn’t quite grasp the main idea of this whole thing. “Are you trying to help me or make me feel like a douche bag?”
“Both.” Chanwoo gave him a pat on the shoulder. “So, you yelled at her here multiple times and then you yelled at her at the grocery claiming that she was stalking you when, clearly, she wasn’t?”
Chanwoo threw the empty plastic cups into the bin, “You are one conceited idiot.” Yoongi glared at him. “One more insult and I’m pouring this hot coffee over your head.”
“You should just go and apologise, dude. Apologising won’t hurt you.” He clasped his hands together and sat down. “Unless you really don’t want to see her again—which I totally doubt.”
Chanwoo tapped onto his chin as he stared at him. “Admit it already.”
“Admit what?”
“That you like her.”
Yoongi immediately denied the idea and tried to come up with as much reasons as to why he doesn’t like her. He sighed and sat down across from him, “I haven’t even gotten my free meal yet.”
Another smack on the back of the head.
“Are you really that dense?” Chanwoo scolded him. “I dunno, why don’t you ask yourself?” Yoongi teased and went back to the counter. “You know this is why chicks don’t dig you. You’re an asshole!” Chanwoo chortled and went into the stockroom, leaving Yoongi to his own thoughts.

He anxiously stood a couple metres away from the studio entrance. Hands idle at his sides and his eyes darting from the studio signage to the pathway behind him.
After moments of thinking his plan through, he finally mustered up enough courage to walk into the studio. He was amazed by all the painting and photographs hung on the walls along with statues placed on top of podiums with spotlights pointing at them.
He made quiet footsteps across the room and carefully observed each of the pictures and painting, wondering which one was hers.
“Hi, yes, how may I help you?” a girl came crashing out of one of the doors behind a desk. “A—Are you alright?” Yoongi rushed to her side and helped her get back onto her feet.
The girl chuckled and nodded. “This is probably the third time that it happened today.” Yoongi awkwardly laughed and took half a step backwards. “Is there anything you need?”
Blood rushed into his ears and cheeks as he remembered the main reason why he was here in the first place. “Yes, actually, um…” He scanned the studio for a while then settled his gaze back to the short girl with a pair of round classes on top of her nose.
“This is where Serin works, right?” He twiddled with his thumbs and shifted his weight onto his other leg. Somehow, he felt like the air around him was suddenly suffocating him, his chest tightening every second.
She curled a piece of her hair behind her ear and smiled. “That’s right, but she’s not here right now.” Her smile disappeared as quickly as it came while she started piling up the boxes that were knocked over.
“Oh, is that so? Is she sick? Will she be here tomorrow, then?”
“Wow, slow down. You got a lot of questions there, huh.” She pushed the door closed and faced him once again. A grin started making its way onto her face. “Who are you, anyway? Are you a guest that Serin invited?”
Yoongi immediately shook his head and forced a small smile. “I’m just a,” A second of hesitation, “Friend.” And yet he’s still so sure.
“Alright, well, I’m not really sure if she’ll be here tomorrow. It’s really hard to be moving equipment from one place to another.” She started scribbling things onto a small notepad.
Confusion started clouding his mind, “Moving? You have another branch?” He carefully inquired. “No, actually, she’s starting her own studio in Daegu. So we’re basically splitting up.” She pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose. “I’m going to manage this studio from now on and she’ll be doing her business over there.”
She continued babbling about their plans but he couldn’t hear anything anymore. The only thing that remained in his mind was the fact that she was leaving.
A sudden sense of urgency shot through him as he quickly took action “Uh—look at the time, I’m really in a hurry! Could you just give me her number so that I can contact her?”
The girl furrowed her eyebrows at him as she thought for a moment. “You’re friends, aren’t you? How come you don’t have her number?”
He inwardly sighed and stopped himself from groaning in frustration. “You see, we just met and I never really got the chance to get it. I haven’t seen her in so long so I just wanted to check up on her. See if she’s alright.”
“Alright,” She scribbled a chain of numbers and handed it to him. “Thank you!” He practically ran out of the store and ran down the street, although he didn’t actually know where he was heading. He had his phone pressed against his ear.
The number you have dialed cannot be reached.
