"There's this little store across from here, go buy a pack of balloons." Serin said as she started searching under around the studio.
Yoongi looked at her weirdly, "Why did you want me to buy balloons?" He placed the pack of balloons on the table.
"It's your birthday, right?" Serin clicked her tongue. "I think you'll like this." she smiled and knelt down on her knees to continue searching.
He let out a loud sigh, nodding a little as he knelt down next to her, "What exactly are you looking for?"
Serin groaned and rested her forehead on the wall with her eyes closed. "A blank canvas."
"But you have a lot out here?" Yoongi raised his eyebrows as he looked around at all the canvases around the studio.
"I can't use those because I'm already using them for something else." She frowned.
"Well..." Yoongi shrugged and plopped down on the floor, resting his back against the wall. "Have you tried checking the storage room?"
"I-I think I did?" She grinned at him.
He let out a heavy sigh and wiped his hand down his face out of frustration, "You didn't."
"Alright, let's go." He took her hand and led her to the storage room out in the back of the studio, sliding the door open to reveal tons and tons of boxes and cans of paint scattered everywhere. "You need to clean up soon." He chuckled.
Serin began pushing the boxes to the side and practically kicked liters of canned acrylic paint just to get to the very back, taking a hold onto the massive canvas wrapped in brown paper. "Give me a hand." She manages to say while tugging on it.
"Oh yeah, hold on." Yoongi rushes to her side and pushes away the other clutter to give way. "I'll take the other end." He grabs onto the other end of the wrapped canvas, lifting it off the floor as she does the same.
A silent debate runs through his mind not knowing which was harder: Trying bring the canvas out of the tiny storage room or filling up the balloons with paint without spilling them on the floor.
"I-I'm sorry about the floor—"
"Don't worry about it. This is an art studio," Serin chuckles and raises her arms in the air. "Here, even the ugliest mistake is beautiful."
A small smile invades his indifference, a tiny crack of fondness for her and she takes some balloons in her arms, coaxing for him to follow her to the canvas. "Help me put them up."
"Will they stay put?" He tilts his head as he watches her pin the first balloon on the canvas. "Watch," She lets go of the balloon after pinning it, leaving it hanging. "See?"
It didn't take them too long to pin all the balloons. If it weren't for Yoongi's excitement to throw darts at them they wouldn't have gotten to finish it soon enough after chasing each other around the studio with paint-filled balloons in their hands.
At the end of the day, paint stains smutted their forearms and cheeks, splatters of rainbow across the dark cement floor and a beautiful piece of messy sitting against the wall for support as it stood with all the colours thick and blotchy as they trickled down.
"Is it locked?" Yoongi asked as Serin plucked the key out of the keyhole. "Yup." She shoves it in her pocket and joins him at the end of the porch stairs.
"Let's buy you a cake. I'd like to bake one for you but that's only possible if I do all the dictating and you do all the baking." She loops her arm with his as they coursed back to her apartment.
