Emily was constantly on the edge, if her stomach could, she'd be doing belly flops. Something about the hellhounds to be easily controlled was something that didn't go unchecked. She turned and watched as Abigail started talking more with Peter. That much she knew wasn't going to happen, as while Peter was part of the group, she knew that there was something going on between him and Althea. It made things blatantly apparent. How else would she have known?
Emily looked at her brother and saw the same ashen look on his face. His eyes constantly went from Peter to Althea and back to Abigail. How could they even get through this much. She was pulled from her thoughts when Ezra walked over to her.
"Emily, we need to talk," Ezra said. "I think there's someone here who wants to speak with us,"
"What are you talking about?" Emily asked.
Ezra grabbed her by her hand and they took off toward the wooden stairs. They walked up until they reached the second floor. Each of the rooms was different, a large red carpet spread out on the floor, and she couldn't help but be amazed at what the humans could do. She'd even wished she'd come down to earth sooner so she could get the full experience, however, she couldn't think that way as she was an angel and if angels spent a lot of time on earth, then they'd become human. However, she didn't quite understand how her brother could remain angelic. She glanced at him unsure of what to think and wondered if he were really in a lot of pain.
Becoming human, she'd heard was a terrible feeling to angels as they would eventually not be welcomed to heaven. So, she wouldn't be surprised if Ezra was thinking the same thing.
"Ezra?" Emily said. "Um, why do you remain solid? Can't you disappear?"
"I can, but lately it's been getting harder," Ezra said. "That's not what I wanted to talk about!"
"What is it then? Tell me,"
Ezra opened his mouth to say something when they entered the room on the left. Inside she saw an angel with red and gold wings, he donned on a long cloth and a red cape that covered his feet. Emily didn't need to ask as she knew exactly who was standing before them.
"Uriel?" Emily said in shock.
*~*~*
Althea watched from the kitchen as she saw her best friend and Peter talking. Somehow, she had a pang of guilt overcome her and she couldn't understand why. Hell, she never thought that she would start falling for something that she had just met. Althea shook her head as thoughts raced through her mind. Especially when it comes to her own friend. There was no way that the two would fight over a boy. Of course, That was the least of her worries. She looked around the living room and discovered that Emily and Ezra were nowhere to be found. She frowned, as Ezra knew how she felt when he disappeared on her without any sort of notification.
"You have got to be kidding me," she said to herself. "Has anyone seen Ezra and Emily?"
"I thought they were in the living room with us," Abigail said.
"They aren't, and I've been worried about Ezra since the last time he was taken," Althea answered. "I don't want them to be left alone and even though we are dealing with this type of thing, we still have to be wary."
"I'm sure they're fine Althea," Peter said.
Althea narrowed her eyes. "What was that?"
"They're fine," Peter repeated. "They might have just needed to go and talk about something in private."
A sudden strong energy overtook Althea, and she stepped away from Abigail and Peter before racing up the stairs. Getting to the second floor, she looked over and saw one of the bedroom doors open slightly. Her stomach was in knots as she made her way over and peeked in. Standing there she saw both the angels plus another angel. He looked well dressed and gave off a strong aura. Althea listened in on the conversation.
"Uriel? Is everything okay?" Emily asked.
"No, Emily it is not," Uriel answered. "I know you two are here because of those two Empaths," he continued. "Yes, I know they're your charges, but have you learned anything about the two girls?"
"All I know is that Abigail is an animal Empath and Althea is an Angel Conduit," Emily said.
"Right, but there's something else," Uriel explained. "Something that even she doesn't realize."
Ezra went silent. Althea tried to listen to see what else they had to say. "Lucifer knows about Althea and he's going to do everything in his power to get her to say yes."
Althea gasped silently. Shocked that Lucifer was ready to take control of her.
"But that's impossible, she's not the conduit for him!" Emily exclaimed. "I thought Michael was her vessel?!"
"He is, but if Lucifer were to get his hands on her, he'd do everything to use her against us in this war," Uriel explained. "What I am saying is that Ezra, you have to step up her training," he continued. "And Emily, same goes for Abigail."
The angels kept themselves cool and calm as they didn't want anything to go wrong. Especially if both girls that they were meant to protect were in grave danger. The only time that would ever happen is if they were taken themselves. Emily hoped that whatever Ezra was thinking about he would at least tell her about what Uriel was talking about.
Althea backed away as soon as they turned toward the door. She took off running downstairs, completely out of breath. She stumbled over her feet until Abigail and Peter looked up. They stood confusion crossing over their faces.
"Althea? What the hell?" Peter said shocked.
"You guys got to hear this, I saw Archangel Uriel and both Emily and Ezra were talking about us and about the demons," Althea's face turned pale, and she wanted to desperately say something, but she could not find the words.
*~*~*
When Althea came downstairs Peter did not know what to say. If anything, knowing that all three angels were communicating with each other was saying something. If his ex-friends were to find a way to bring back Lucifer, which he knew was their next step, he wasn't going to sit back and let everything fall apart. He screwed up once, no way was he going to screw up again. He already turned over a new leaf. However, it became hard when the two girls were always together, Abigail and Althea, he noticed were like sisters. So of course, Althea was going to be worried about her friend when she unwillingly tamed a hellhound.
It left Peter to wonder if Althea had other hidden abilities that he didn't even know about. He got up just as the angels came back down. Of course, when he looked at Ezra, he knew something had gone wrong, considering Ezra looked way more human than usual.
"Ezra?" Peter said confused.
Ezra's brown eyes looked at Peter as if to register what had happened.
"Why do you look human?" Peter asked.
"Nothing," Ezra answered. "But have you guys figured out what else we could do about our satanist friends,"
"Not yet, but Ezra what's going on with you?" Althea asked. "You have been acting different lately, is there something you would like to tell me?"
"There is something," Ezra said. "But you aren't going to like it."
