"Just like the moon, I will still admire you from afar and gaze at the beautiful night sky, where I can find you," I uttered in a very minimal voice.
"Ross, what are you doing there? Come on, the school is now closing. Hurry up!" I looked in the direction where the voice came from. I immediately stood up, got my things on the ground, and rashly went down from the rooftop where the night sky can be seen, where the orange sky is filling with cold indigo and glittering stars.
"We'll be getting locked up if you don't hurry," she shouted across the staircase.
She's always like this. "Coming!" I answered.
I wonder what would happen if I didn't meet her or if I didn't get close to her. Would things be the same?
Hi, I'm Ethan Ross Baquiran Ferrer, an 18-year-old boy who loves to read books about astronomy and gaze at the night sky on the rooftop together with Stella Avery Cortes Mariano. This is the story of how I and Stella met.
Stella, which means star, is a beautiful star. Her name is appropriate for her. Aside from being beautiful, she's also kind and intelligent. I don't get why this gorgeous lady became my friend.
"Hoy, Ross! Nandito ka na naman sa rooftop. The lunch break is almost done. We should be heading back already."
"Five more minutes." She immediately grabbed the book I'm reading and said, "Are you going or I'll report you to the dean that you're ditching classes?" She grinned.
"Tatayo po, mahal na prinsesa. Huwag na pong magalit, hindi na po papalag."
"Good, shall we?" I heard her cute chuckles, and I want to hear that.
I smiled and held her hands, offering them to me, and we swayed our hands like kids.
When was the last time I became friends with her? Oh right, it's the first day of class, and I was a transferee back then.
As I remember, it was the first day of our class, and I was nervous at that time.
"Good morning, everyone. I'm Ethan Ross Ferrer. Nice meeting you all."
"You may take your seat." I look around to see if there is a vacant seat. I went to the window beside it, where a spectacular view of the sea and ocean can be seen. one closest to the window, and there I have my seat.
I was an introvert at that time, and when I first arrived here in the Province of Quezon, I didn't do much because I didn't want to be here at first. But my father insists that I experience school at least once. He didn't let me finish what I was saying, but I already knew he knew what I was going to say: "I'm intelligent enough to handle our company; your son has a 150-intelligent quotient; why do I need to go to school?"
And here I am standing in a classroom full of joy and laughter. It's pretty decent to be in here, though, and I slowly appreciate the ambiance of this four-cornered room when Stella came to me.
"Hi, can I get the book under your desk? It's mine, and I left it the last time I was sitting there. Thank you."
"Is this the book you're looking for?" I hold up a book entitled Cosmos; it's a book full of astrology and planets. A book studying the bodies of the universe beyond it.
"Thank you, by the way, I'm Stella."
"Yeah, I know, the beautiful star of North Stellar, in Italian Stella, means beautiful star."
"H-How did you know?"
"It is written in the back of your book that you're Stella Avery Cortes Mariano, Zodiac sign Leo, and like the constellation of Cleopatra's Eye, a planetary nebula in the Constellation of Eridanus."
