𝗜 𝗠 𝗔 𝗡 𝗜

Dej and I's flights leave tomorrow morning back home. We were both gonna go back home until we found something of our own but my job offered to pay for my hotel for a week, giving me time to have my credentials transferred and get a new job. They had already done this before I could reject the offer. Said it's a parting gift in thanks for being a good coworker all this time. I really did enjoy all of them but I miss my own family more. Maybe I'll visit again one day if I don't move back. Who knows ?

Dej and I are gonna take advantage of the spa in the hotel and stay there for the weekend. It's paid for a week so we thought why save it for ourselves when someone else needs it more and besides, we have homes to go to in times like this. There's plenty of people who could use a warm shower and some free food for five days.

Today I have my last podcast with Dante and Charlie. These guys are so dramatic.

"I've been bawling all week. She's leaving us guys" Charlie sniffles.

"He acts like we don't talk nearly every day. He sends me TikToks or we're just texting, we talk everyday"

"No I definitely text her almost everyday. We're gonna miss your jokes. You're funny" Dante nodded. "Imani was a good touch for us. People love women. She's a nice woman"

"That's what I am to you ? A touch for the people ?"

"No that's- you- come on now" He stuttered, dropping his shoulders at me.

I laughed at his difficulty explaining "I'm kidding. Carry on"

"You brought something new, now we're gonna need a guest to fill the void"

"That's kind of hard not gonna lie because she's mostly American she's got that Western humor"

"What is MOSTLY American Charlie ? That's not a thing" Dante corrected him.

"Seriously. And what is Western Humor. Im funny without being Western. You wouldn't even know I was American if I didn't tell you"

"She's right. He was so surprised to find out because you were here...."

"2 years I believe"

"Right you were here about two years when we met you so you had some familiarity with everything"

"'Mostly American' go back to school" I mock Charlie.

As a parting gift 'in hopes of a return' they got me a small cake with "We love the American" on it. They're assholes. We shared the cake and then left. It took no time for me to clear the place out. I was settled but not to the point of taking months to clean it out before moving. I promised myself to only settle that well in a home. I gave up extra clothes that I didn't ship already and don't have packed to go.

Cal came over to spend time with me. With him not being able to come we know it'll be hard to contact each other as much but he wants to visit eventually and is sending Kei a graduation gift through me. It's probably best he didn't come anyway. I'll actually miss him.

"I'll miss you, you know ?" Cal kisses my head as laying between his legs with his arms wrapped around my neck and our legs tangled.
