Ruby's POV:

It had been a few days since the fight with the mutants, but we were still battling them. A few days ago, we crossed paths with a guy who breathed fire; the day before, there was a man who could turn his skin into metal and turn them into weapons, and just yesterday, we dealt with a guy who could move stuff with his mind, and it was so annoying. We were all strung out in our living room, trying to recover from our battles. Qrow had joined us a few times and was also taking some downtime. We didn't want Oscar to get hurt too badly, so he stayed at home, though he wanted to know how to deal with them.

"God, I'm tired of this," sighed Blake, resting her head on Yang, "it's one mutant after another, and their powers just make it so hectic to deal with."

"Ugh, you're telling me," groaned Nora, who was lying on top of Ren and Jaune, "remember when that mutant punched Yang? I almost thought she couldn't take it and would get knocked out."

"Me too," yawned Yang, "that guy could punch!"

"This is annoying," I sighed, "I can't do too many more of these fights with these guys!"

"You said it," sighed Oscar, "you guys look worn out from all those battles. That's why I made snacks for you guys."

Oscar pulled out trays of cookies, drinks, food, comics (for me), and other stuff for us.

"Oh, thank you, Oscar," said Weiss, "Ooh, you even got that tea Blake and I like to drink!"

"He did!?" gasped Blake, sitting up; she went over to the tray and found the tea I made, "oh, I love this brand! Thanks, Oscar!"

Everyone got their snacks and sat back down. Oscar came up to me and offered me some comics.

"Thanks, Oscar," I said to them, "Ooh, this is the new one!"

"Yeah, I figured you guys have been running yourselves ragged, so you deserve to relax a bit."

"Oh, you're so thoughtful."

"Well, you guys do much more than me, so I just thought I should do something for you."

"Well, that's sweet. I guess we should enjoy ourselves before the others get here, and we have more work."

"Yeah, you guys are gonna be really busy soon. I'm gonna get out of your hair so you can relax more."

He started to leave, but I wanted to tell him to stick around. It feels like we leave him out of so many things, and that makes me feel bad. I sat back down on the sofa and started reading.

"Did you want Oscar to stay with us?" asked Blake.

"Eh, uh, well kinda, but I don't want to bother him," I said, turning a page, "I just want to take some to relax and not do anything for a while."

I sat down, and as soon as I was about to enjoy the first few pages, Qrow came bursting in with his scroll.

"Guys," said Qrow, "Ironwood and the Ace Ops just arrived. Come on, we gotta go to the military base to meet them."

We all groaned.

"But my comics," I whined.

"You can read 'em later, Ruby. Now, let's go!"

Everyone got up and grabbed their gear, and as I grabbed mine, I turned to my comics.

"Wait for me," I whispered to them.

"I'll wait for you," whispered a deep voice back.

"Comics!" I gasped, "Can you guys talk?"

"No, but I can."
