me: On our album Chad & Jeremy: Turbines to Speed, we have two parodies of Peter, Paul and Mary's The Cruel War.
Burt: We had already written The Jungle, the Cruel War parody dedicated to Chad, but since the album was dedicated to both of them, we decided to make one for Jeremy.
me: Yeah. The track we sang along with was Mocedades' cover of the original song. Their version is actually in Spanish. It's pretty good.
Burt: The one question we frequently get asked is why the lyric at the end of every verse is 'no, brother, no'.
me: Well, part of it is that Burt and Jeremy are both straight. *laughs*
Burt: *laughs* Also because we're Sam & Robin and Jeremy actually had a little brother named Robin. So it was kind of a tribute to Robin Clyde as well because he died at six.
me: Don't ask us how. No one really knows. I should have asked Jeremy at the meet and greet.
Burt: Any requests?
