me: I think it's safe to move on to one of my favorites. Orange Colored Sky.
Burt: Oh my gosh...
me: Burt sang lead on Orange Colored Sky and he'll tell y'all about it now!
Burt: Sammy... *laughs* Alright. When Batman was still being filmed, Frank Zappa approached me and asked me to sing a song he wrote about my character the Boy Wonder. The song was called Boy Wonder, I Love You and it was basically me reading a fan letter...
me: That was so obviously written by Zappa himself.
Burt: *laughs* The song was backed with a cover of Nat King Cole's Orange Colored Sky. Sammy listened to it not long after I made my debut on her stories and started harmonizing with it out of nowhere. And she liked how it sounded and said 'Burt, we gotta record that.'
me: And we did.
Burt: And we did. I honestly thought Sammy actually spiced up my hideous voice with those harmonies.
me: Yeah, if you guys thought John Lennon hated his own singing voice, Burt despises his singing.
Burt: I'm the world's worst singer, Sammy.
me: My parents think that too. Burt hated the original recording of Orange Colored Sky. I don't know how he agreed to the whole Sam & Robin thing, but...
Burt: I like my voice better when I'm harmonizing with someone good.
me: Well, thank you very much, Burt.
Burt: *laughs* Requests?
