me: This one was fun to record. I loved doing that laugh before the first chorus.
Burt: *laughs* Yeah.
me: Um, I had intended this to be my song to sing with the lyrics changing to be about Herman's Hermits. Because the song was originally titled Hermit the Frog.
Burt: Yeah, but at the time, we were doing a story with them. My Sentimental Friend.
me: Mm-hmm. And Burt needed more songs to sing, so we needed to change the pronouns and the name of who he's singing about.
Burt: And we came up with Carmilla because Sammy was watching JESSIE that day.
me: Yeah, that's it. I was watching the episode that sorta reenacts Ghostbusters. There's one line in there where Luke says "Jessie, who are you dressed as? Babe-zilla?"
Burt: *laughs*
me: And I wanted to find a name that rhymed with it. So I came up with "they call her Carmilla, they say she's babe-zilla". That's it.
