Alexia led Elena down the sandy path to the beach, their dogs, Nyla and Suzy, happily trotting alongside them. The salty sea breeze filled their senses as they reached the shoreline, the rhythmic sound of the waves crashing against the shore soothing their souls.

Elena smiled, her eyes reflecting the endless expanse of the sea, and Alexia couldn't help but capture the moment. She took out her phone, aiming it at Elena who was cuddled up on a beach towel with the dogs, her radiant smile contrasting the serene background.

Click. The picture was taken, and Alexia felt a sense of contentment wash over her as she saw Elena looking so peaceful. She quickly posted it on her social media, adding a simple caption: "Beach day with my love 🏖️❤️."

As they enjoyed the sun, Alexia's phone buzzed with notifications. She opened it to see comments pouring in, mostly from her teammates. Jenni had written, "Captain's got the heart-eyes emoji for her journalist girlfriend, I see!" Others chimed in with teasing remarks about how adorable the couple looked.

Alexia chuckled as she scrolled through the comments but couldn't help but think about the future. She glanced at Elena, who was watching the dogs play in the surf, a look of joy on her face. The idea of expanding their little family crossed her mind.

She leaned over to Elena, placing a soft kiss on her cheek, and whispered, "You know, seeing you here like this makes me think about the future. Maybe one day, we'll have a little one to bring to the beach."

Elena turned her head to look at Alexia, her eyes shimmering with love and hope. "I'd love that," she replied, her voice filled with warmth. They both knew there might be challenges ahead, but they were willing to face them together, just like they had with everything else.

The sun was beginning its descent over the horizon, casting a warm, golden hue across the beach. Alexia and Elena had been lounging peacefully for a while, but as the day wore on, a playful spirit overcame Alexia.

She glanced at Elena, mischief dancing in her eyes. With a sly grin, she leaned over and whispered, "Race you to the water," before springing to her feet and sprinting towards the ocean.

Elena blinked in surprise for a moment, then burst into laughter. "Hey, that's cheating!" she called out, scrambling to her feet and giving chase.

The sand was warm beneath their feet as they ran towards the water's edge. Alexia's laughter filled the air, and Elena was determined to catch up. She gained ground quickly, her legs pumping as she closed the gap between them.

Just as Alexia reached the water's edge, she glanced over her shoulder to see Elena almost upon her. With a mischievous glint in her eye, she reached down, scooped up a handful of seawater, and hurled it back towards Elena.

The splash of water hit Elena square in the face, causing her to let out a playful scream and stumble for a moment. But she didn't give up. Instead, she lunged forward, tackling Alexia from behind, and both of them tumbled into the shallow waves.

Laughter and splashing water filled the air as they wrestled in the surf. Elena managed to get the upper hand, rolling Alexia over in the water. With a triumphant grin, she said, "Gotcha!" before splashing her once more.

Alexia couldn't stop laughing, her heart lighter than it had been in a long time. She reached up to cup Elena's cheek, brushing a wet strand of hair behind her ear. "You got me," she admitted with a playful wink.

Elena leaned down, her lips meeting Alexia's in a sweet, saltwater-tinged kiss. As they pulled away, she said, "You're lucky I love you so much."

Alexia's eyes softened with affection. "I know, and I'm the luckiest woman in the world because of it."

With the sun setting in the background and the sound of waves caressing the shore, they stayed there, in the embrace of the ocean, their love as boundless as the sea itself.
