Ch. 12 - First Time at Work

Demi's POV

After having fun scaring Evie with Cedric, I decide to go the library. All the books on the Isle are tattered. My home has a huge collection of Meridian books, and books from my Earth. I was able to learn a range of magic. But none from this world.

I walk in and the librarian is a White Rabbit.

"Hello I am a new student, and was wondering if I can check out books out know."

"Oh yes Dearie. Your account should have been set up already. And here is a library guide. All the libraries in Auradon, share a system. You can check out any book from any one of them, and they will instantly come here."

"Really that is amazing. I just love reading. I read all the books back home."

"Your account is set up. You can check out books today. "And remember, when checking out a book, do be late returning it."

"Thank you." I look down, and see a flyer advertising a student assistant job. "Are you still looking for a student assistant?"

"Yes I am. In a school of princes, and princesses, it is hard finding someone to apply.

"I would like to apply for the position."

"Really!"

"Yes. I am so far from home, I might be here year round. I do not plan to join any clubs."

"You do not need to apply, we can do a trial run. When are you free first?"

"How about now? I plan to spend tomorrow traversing the campus."

"Ok, You first job is to clear out the return books box, and check them back in."

"Ok thank you."

I go to the box, and there is only three books. I can tell these kids are not reading.

I check them back in, take them back to the shelfs. I decide to take a look around.

I go to the curse section, and it is kind of sparse. I guess they do not want any future villains.

I start to put back the last book, History of Modern Curses, when I look up and see Chad Charming entering.
