Ch. 21 – A Bargain Made
Demi says, "Once again, what do you expect me to do?"
"I do not know. I was wondering if you had any idea."
"Stop this now. There is nothing anyone can do, Tiger. That is why Prince Ben has forsaken us. We fairies are connected with children, and their belief in us is vitally important. When a new baby laughs for the first time, a new fairy is born, and as there are always new babies there are always new fairies."
"It sounds like a spell or a curse. It would take a long time, but I can probably help."
All the fairies look at Demi. "I have spent years studying magic. And practicing my powers. Powers not normal to your would. If you give me a chance I can come up with a way to save all you."
Tiger Peony smiles with excitement.
"You would save us. After I threatened you all?" says the Queen.
Demi smiles and says, "Of course. For a price. If am able to save you. I want to be labeled as a friend of the fairies, and if Prince Ben tries to send me back to the Island, you will fight for me. And you have to let us go."
All the fairies stare at Queen Clarion. "Ok. I will allow it. But if you are lying, I will bring you three to justice. Now leave." She summons a ball of light and shoots it at Demi, and it forms a bracelet.
"This will allow you to communicate, and come back to Pixie Hollow. Do not make me second think trusting you about this."
"We will not, Queen Clarion," says Tiger.
Demi, Chad, and Tiger leave Pixie Hollow through the tree, and when they arrive back in Auradon it has become night.
