Ch. 8 - Here Yesterday. Gone Today

Vk's POV

Carlos, Evie, Jay, and Mal were called to the office Prince Ben.

Carlos said, "Why do you think that Ben wants to meet with us?"

"Maybe he wants to see how we are acclimating" says Mal.

Evie looks around, "But why is Demi not here?"

They are look around seeing that Demi is not here.

The door opens and they walk inside, and Ben, the king and queen, and fairy godmother is there.

"Hey guys thank you for joining us" says Ben.

"Not like they had a choice." Says King Adam.

Evie steps forward, "Thank you for inviting us here, but I assure that this is completely unnecessary Prince Ben. We are having a good time here, and trying to fit in as much as possible."

"That is not why we call you all here Evie." Says Fairy godmother.

Prince Ben stands up, "we know about your plans to steal the wand for your parents."

The whole room goes silent.

Jay steps up, "what are you talking about stealing. We have no..."

"Stop it Jay. Demi told me." Jay steps back near his friends. "The wand has been moved to a secret, protected location, where none of you will be able to touch it."

Carlos goes to say something, but Ben raises his hand to stop him.

"I brought you all here to offer you a chance because cannot help who your parents are. I am going to give you all one more chance. You can stay and continue to learn at Auradon, or go back to the isle. Now what is your choice?"

The VK's shift.

Mal steps forward with a smile on her face. "Thank you so much kind and caring Prince Ben. Taking pity on the sad useless children of villains. Releasing us from the prison, that your father, and fairy godmother subject us too. Giving us the chance to no longer having to eat rotten food, or receive no education, and the love of our parents in the form of abuse." Everything she says in her speech with a teasing cadence.

She looks at the uneasiness in the face of people in the room, which is exactly what she wanted.

"If I had to make a choice, I would have to choose the isle. Send us back."

Ben stands up and says, "I do not pity you, any of you. I just wanted to give you the chance that parents would not be able to have. If you all want to go back, I will not stop you."

Mal says, "We do."

Evie speaks up. "Mal... I want to stay. Doug has been helping me set up my design shop, and business."

Carlos says, "I want to stay too. I joined Auradon Prep Animal Club, and I have Dude. And I love my mom, but I think she does not love me. I will not go back."

Mal looks at Jay knowing that he will miss all the stealing he can do on the isle.

"Jay I know you want to go back."

"Sorry Mal. I thought stealing was everything I had. Since I have been here and joined every sports team, I have been happier. I will miss my dad, but he wanted this for me, a better life."

"You are all traitors." Mal says, with a tear sliding down her face.

"I want you all to go back to your rooms. The guards will walk you back to your room, so you can pack Mal."
