Ch. 34 - Date Day

Chad turns his head to the queen. "This has been great. Bye."

They leave Pixie Hollow and return back to school.

"So do you want to go to the kitchen and see what we can grab?"

"No I have everything planned out." She puts her hand in her bag, and pulls out a tiny picnic basket. She waves her hand and it enlarges.

"That is cool. I know the perfect place." They walk around the school until they land in a grassy area surrounded in flowers.

"This is beautiful. There is no place like this in the Isle. The air, the flowers." She takes a blanket out of the basket, and they set out the food. And start eating.

"In Auradon, you grow up with everyone's fairytales. It is kind of a guide of the dos and do nots. I hope you are not bothered by me asking, but why were you on the Isle, and not with your aunt."

"My home was named Meridian. My father was the ruler, after he took over by force. He never had enough power, until he decided to try to steal his sister's. But he was defeated by my aunt Elyon. Years later, Meridian started to die from the toll my dad's rein took on it. We were not able to open any portals to what we called the human world. The only way for us to leave was to drain all these magical items, and what was left of Meridian, and come here. Even though I was mostly raised by my Aunt, I still loved my father. I guess when we came here the magic in this world separated all of us. The Isle took my dad and me, and Auradon, took my Aunt."

"Do you think she would take you in? I mean she did ask Ben to bring you here. I do not know. It does not matter now. The fairies have taken me as a ward, and ally. I want more than anything to see my dad, but I do not know what temptation could do to him." Chad takes her hands into his.

"I will try to find a way for you talk to him. I cannot make any promises, but I will try." He smiles.

"Thank you Chad. You have really made me feel really comfortable here. I do not know if I would even want to talk to anyone if it was not for you."

"I feel the same way. Before you came here, people wanted to be my friend, because my parents fairy tale was the most known. And one day I could be a king. My best friends, even started acting differently, when Ben started his transition to soon to be king. You never make me feel like just the son of Cinderella and Prince Charming. They do not even know that Chad is just my nick name. My name is actually Charles."

Demi says, "I like the name Charles. It is dignified and the name of someone with a face like yours. Can I call you Charles sometimes?"

"From your lips, I would love it."

They both look at the emotions of the moment swirling. They start moving towards each other. Their heads getting closer, and then their lips finally touch. And it feels like fireworks going off. After a minute they break off to catch a breath.

"Wow Demi. Did you feel that?"

"Yes it felt like fireworks." He takes her into his arms, and lies her down, and they kiss again.
