He nodded, suddenly curious, and took his place on the edge of the bed as well. His hands were placed behind him for support as he let himself a little fall backwards. Shyly, I stood up and went to my jacket.
With my unsteady fingers, I took the small sachet out of my pocket. I then returned to Taehyung and took a place next to him again. I got cross-legged on the bed and he did the same.
He noticed the small bag I had in the palm of my hand.
"T-Here, I don't know if it's real, but here it is..." I whispered. I handed him my find and he gently took it from me.
An eyebrow arched, the brunette dropped its contents onto his palm, then stopped for a moment. He brought the small object closer to his eye to analyze it better, and widened his eyes.
"Holy shit." he swore. I was startled to hear him being so vulgar; it wasn't really his habit. He gave me a surprised look. I had never seen such an expression on his face until now.
"Is this...Is this a real...?" I then asked, hesitant. Taehyung gently turned it in his hand,
carefully, before abruptly standing up and grabbing his phone. He stared at the diamond, then at his cell phone, juggling between the two before approaching me. He sat down on the edge of the bed, at an angle to face me, and handed me his phone.
"That's what I thought. Look, it's a blue diamond, Jungkook." I opened my eyes wide, staring at the bright screen. He then put it away and looked at the gemstone again. It was a necklace, a thin silver chain from which hung a magnificent diamond, tiny, but extremely sparkling. Every time my superior made him move, the light from the room reflected on him in pretty bluish reflections.
The brunette seemed in shock at my discovery.
"How much does it cost, sir...? What is its value...?" I asked him then. He gave me an intense look, then stood up again. A rather calm and luminous expression had taken place on his features. I straightened up in turn.
"Put on your jacket, we're going to go see it right away. There's a jeweler nearby who will be able to tell us the value of this necklace." He said to me. I was happy to see him so different. He wasn't cheerful or smiling either, but suddenly I felt like all his dark thoughts had left his mind, leaving only a certain fascination with this gem.
Taehyung then put the necklace in the bag and handed it to me. I stuffed it in my pocket, making sure to zip up my jacket, and we headed downstairs from the hotel.
I got into his car and my boss drove off. I was excited to find out how much the stone was worth; not to sell it, no, but rather out of curiosity.
Taehyung searched for a diamond jeweler's address on his phone. He found it pretty quickly, then typed the address into his GPS. I saw on the small device that it was about half an hour from here.
So much the better, because I couldn't sit still.
"Where did you find this stone?" The brunette asked me, breaking the silence. -In the shower. The diamond shone through the bag..."
"You did well to take it, Jiho must be desperate." I found myself laughing softly when I heard him say that.
Surprised by my laughter, Taehyung gave me a furtive, amused glance. I blushed slightly and looked away from the window.
** "Gentlemen, I think you hit the jackpot..." Behind the gem expert's counter, my boss and I had waited about ten minutes when we told him about my discovery.
The man had a big smile on his face, visibly happy for us.
"It's a gray blue diamond. The price varies depending on the intensity of the color. Here we have a very light blue, almost transparent, but it's already worth a lot." He explained.
