It was the very first time I walked around the mansion at night. And, to tell the truth, there was no one around.
On this eleventh day of captivity, if I could call it that, I had only decided to walk. I needed it. Because continuing to go back and forth between my bed, the bathroom and meals was going to make me implode.
Kang-Dae hadn't noticed anything about my state, I don't think. We ate together and he just asked me about my life before, smiled at me, and threw childish barbs at his guests.
Sometimes he made me feel like a big child.
But on this eleventh day, Kang-Dae no longer seemed like a shadow of a threat. I even had the feeling that this was all becoming ridiculous. Why did he want me in his mansion if he didn't care about me? At first I thought he wanted me here for...
Yes. To touch me. Everyone had thought so. Taehyung, me, the others.
And yet nothing. He had never behaved interested, disturbing or inappropriate towards me. Aside from the strange impression of a man-child I had towards him, nothing shocked me. He was annoyed by adults. And I didn't see him enough to know how he interacted with other teenagers.
Speaking of the latter, it was just as strange. The mansion seemed like a vacation spot. Young girls and boys had fun here. They all seemed happy. Really happy. However, were they not aware that this life was not normal? That being locked in a gigantic mansion run by a man with shady behavior was even alarming enough?
Obviously not.
Some were playing in the garden, others were running around the mansion, others were walking, and still others were cleaning. It was never the same ones who cleaned, but I surprised myself by realizing that the groups looked similar.
I deduced the following thing: there was a turnover. Each in turn, the young people had to take care of the household.
And me ? Nothing. Kang-Dae didn't ask me anything, not the slightest brush.
I had the impression that he wanted me in this mansion just to say, precisely, have me.
I repeated this sentence several times in my head and started to frown.
Something was definitely wrong.
"Oh my God, Jungkook!" A woman's voice exclaimed, whispering.
I jerked, freezing just before turning a hallway intersection. Slowly, I turned around, until I discovered...
"...Ava? -Follow me, hurry up! No, but it's not possible, it's not possible..." She breathed, while turning around to head towards a half- open door.
I looked around for a short moment, my heart beating, and started to follow her. I entered the turn in the room, which seemed to be some sort of abandoned office, like a useless room. After glancing outside, Ava closed the door in slow motion.
A silence settled.
And then she began to scream, still in a half-voice.
"No, but who hired you!!!"
I opened my eyes wide, as well as my mouth.
"Pardon...?" I replied, stunned.
She started pacing around the room, oddly hysterical. However, she was always careful not to raise her voice.
"Ten days that I torture myself looking for you, ten days that you continue to wake up in the afternoon, as if we were not on a mission? Nooo, obviously, it's vacation here! Tell me, you went to take a look at the lights fireworks? No ? Because that wouldn't have surprised me! And Taehyung who sends me messages, and who gives me missions, Ava do this, Ava do that, tell that to Jungkook Ava, ah well yes Mr. Taehyung it's not that I don't want to but Jungkook is: nowhere to be found ! Because, you see, he wakes up every day around one p.m.! Maybe your employee likes a lie-in? No because-"
