When the doors closed, right behind us, the dull sound they made resonated within me as the last thing I would hear from outside, from outside where I was still free. Because from the way Kang-Dae looked at me , as if he was brooding over me, I already understood that I belonged to him.
Well, that's what he thought. Because the only person to whom I truly belonged was the blond next to me, who walked with a regular and calm step, even though I was certain that he was as little serene as me.
We played the game like a gigantic play. Taehyung was the playwright , and I was the lead actor. Jimin, Jin , Namioon and Yoongi were the supporting actors.
And Kang-Dae was the big bad guy, the one who had to end up with a sword stuck in his heart.
"How are you, little pearl?" The mature man smiled at me warmly.
I felt Taehyung's eyes on me.
"Good. Thank you," I breathed. -It's perfect. If you need anything, my angel, you tell me. mmh?" He assured me.
I stiffened inside.
My angel.
I wanted to look towards my superior, but barely stopped myself. I didn't want to betray us, and even less want to see his face masked by a falsely neutral expression was already in enough pain as it was.
But something was strange. Kang-Dae no longer paid any attention to Taehyung, as usual. No, now he was acting like the blond was insignificant, as it it were just a piece of furniture, just a... Just a pawn.
The forty-year-old's eyes were fixed on me. He kept smiling, looking for my eyes. He looked stupidly happy.
"You know Taehyung, you gave me a nice gift."
He finally said to my boss.A horrible feeling shot through my ribcage with a stinging rush of adrenaline as I suddenly realized the meaning of his sentence.
I was his birthday present.
"Okay, go help yourself, the drink is on this side."
Kang-Dae started to leave, when he looked back one last time.
"Oh, and... No booze for Jungkook."
I frowned. Taehyung spoke up.
"For what? -Because I decided it that way. I don't want him to end up too drunk, I like it when he's discreet." He smiled.
Lord.
He already considered me his, his property. He was already giving me orders. I turned to Taehyung, worried about his reaction. His jaw was so tight it seemed as thin as a knife blade which broke my heart instantly.
When he finally left, I rushed in front of my superior, keeping my distance. I could clearly feel the many eyes on us.
"T-Taehyung I-"
"Look at the guards on the left, at the very back, there are four of them. There are also around ten along the doors. They're mixed in with Kang-Dae's men, but the ones I just pointed out to you are mine."
Surprised by his change of subject, I discreetly turned towards the places that my eldest had listed, before noticing the few furtive glances of certain employees towards us. Judging from their glances, they were indeed Taehyung's.
"They're looking at you. Isn't that dangerous? -They are under my orders. And I am present. They will protect me tonight, just like you when I am no longer here. You'll have to remember their faces Jungkook. They will be essential to the proper functioning of the plan."
I glanced admiringly at these.
"Don't look at them too much. Ignore them . If they look, it's not too suspicious But we can't ignore them or allow just one mistake tonight."
