"Please, let her go..take me!" You were woken up by Bucky, crying in the middle of the night. Both sleeping in your bed, after love making, into each other's arms. "Sweetheart, what's going on? Bucky..." it looked like he didn't hear you "I beg you. I take her place". Tears started flowing from his closed eyes and he squeezed your hand "Bucky, it's me. I'm here". He suddenly started rolling around, from side to side, without finding peace. You hugged him to make him feel all your love, in response he lifted his vibranium arm in the act of hitting something.
"I love you so much". It finally worked, he woke up and sit back to the headboard, sweating and shaking, holding his face into the hands. "Are you having a nightmare again, hon'? It was not real. I'm safe and healthy. Look at me!" He hesitated then realized and hugged you tight "oh doll..I was so scared they had found us and taken you away from me!" "It won't happen" Bucky lowered his beautiful eyes, which had turned sad and dark like the sky in a rainy day. You did your best to kiss his forehead and make him feel a little better. "Tell me you'll always be next to me. I need to hear it" his voice broken with fear and despair "I made a promise, 2 months ago, before God. To love, protect, respect and cherish you till the end of my life. I'm not going anywhere, my angel. We're twin souls ,don't you remember?"
Bucky looked at the ring on your hand and his was where you put it on your wedding day, then gave you a little smile "I love you, doll. You're the woman in my life and I'll protect you till my last breath". "Listen to me: they are powerless until we are together, we are stronger than any whole army", you kissed through the tears being aware that Hydra had not been defeated yet. You had to be careful, but love was the strongest feeling in the universe "I chose you not by chance, Sgt Barnes. And I'm not regretting it any day in my life!"
Some minutes later he had fallen asleep again, his head on your chest, breathing quietly
