I had just arrived at my hotel in Cannes that morning, after a long intercontinental flight: all my team was running like crazy through the suite when I opened the door: my dress was black made by lace, with small Swarovski crystals, long sleeved and narrow waisted. Jamie and I had agreed on a very simple hairstyle: my brown red hair would fall in soft curls on my shoulders and chest. I chose a natural makeup for the eyes, a sparkling blush brightened my face and an antique pink/red lipstick plumped my mouth, the final touch of waterproof mascara lengthened even more my already long eyelashes.

"You're perfect, Lizbeth!" announced Jamie as her work of art was complete "now only the dress is missing on you!" added Emily, my agent; I was so focused not to move during Jamie's process that I hadn't realized she had come into the room. "You're such a view, honey; I challenge anyone to resist you. You would melt even an iceberg! Such a masterpiece, Jamie, you're incredible!" Grace, my stylist, was helping me get the dress on then finally closed the zipper. It was another woman looking at me in the mirror and I smiled to her.

Posing for photographers was a thing I liked very much: the more I played with them all the time the more beautiful photos I found on magazines and websites the day after; I gave them what they wanted even when caught during everyday life, we had a kind of agreement according to which they didn't violate my privacy. When I arrived on the red carpet that afternoon, a photographer called my name to draw the attention of everyone on me: tons of flashes almost blinded me but I smiled and greeted them all "Bonne soire! ça va?" They went into a frenzy hearing my perfect French accent – my mom was born in Paris and raised me speaking French all the time at home, since I was a child.

"Lizbeth, where is David?" I was waiting for that question. My boyfriend and I had split up after 3 years, everyone knew he cheated on me with his co-star Meredith from the new last season of "Lawyers": she had shared a pic of them in bed on her instagram stories, that night they were drunk and when they woke up the morning after, she realized it was too late. My brother Jacob had sent it to me, I had checked by chance my mobile texts in the middle of the night getting up to pee: I threw up the dinner till my stomach was empty, but I didn't cry, I had already seen that coming, David was working too much lately and till too late every day. Something was clearly going on. In short everyone had seen the pic, all the gossip online magazines shared it with almost the same title "Hot Lawyers: Anne and Steve making up for real"

David found no excuses to justify what had happened, it was crystal clear that he didn't love me anymore, Meredith was that something new, younger and fully different from me: tall, curvy but with a B cup, proportioned in all sizes.

I smiled to the photographers skipping the question, my agent whispered "great job, Beth, just a couple more shots and we'll be able to get into the palace for the screening. Hold on!" I did as I was told, then suddenly turning to my right I met the bluest eyes I had ever seen in a man: he was wearing a white shirt, a total black double breasted suit matched with a bow tie and a  pair of shiny shoes. He touched his hair a couple of times to fix it behind his ears switching from smiling to intense gaze. I recognized him from this second one: he was Sebastian Stan, one of the nominees as best actor for his role of young Donald Trump in the movie "The Apprentice". His co-star Maria Bakalova was of my dearest friends in Hollywood and stepped just after him on the red carpet: she smiled at me and waved a hand mouthing a Hi. I smiled in return and noticed Sebastian was following our silent chat: when we were over with the shoots, she came closer and hugged me softly "Hon'... Oh my God! You look gorgeous on this dress!" I laughed "See who's the one saying it...the prettiest blonde in Cannes this year!" She was amazing in an emerald green, white, black gown by D&G, decorated with a huge printed painting on the front side, she looked like a princess.
